Gehinnom and the
Preacher's Voice

From the Valley of Hinnom, to the words of Moshiach, to a Connecticut meetinghouse in 1741 — a study of judgment preached in earnest.

The Gehinnom Urgency

The Motivational Prod to Reverse Babel for Every Tribe and Tongue to the Ends of the Earth

The Jeopardy of Every Soul in the World otherwise Already Condemned to Gehinnom shows Why We Must Have An Applied Linguistics School with which to Run the Race toward Shavuos 2033 for the 7000 Languages of the World

Jude 1:7. — εκπορνευσασαι πυρος αιωνιου.

Here there is one question asked and the answer must not be softened: what did it mean, to the inerrant Biblical prophets, such as Daniel, who said Gehinnom was Deraon Olam and eternal, Daniel 12:2, and also Isaiah, who concurred in Isaiah 66:24 that Gehinnom's grave worm will not die and Gehinnom's fire will not be quenched? Isaiah 66:24.

I
Ge Ben-Hinnom — the valley that became a word

The Doctrine was in the mouth of Daniel and in the last verse of Isaiah and other places before it took the name of a Garbage Dump

Gehinnom is not just a place on a map: the Valley of Ben-Hinnom, a ravine on the southern and western edge of Jerusalem. Under Ahaz and Manasseh it became the site of child sacrifice to Molech — the practice of "passing children through the fire" condemned across the Tanakh (2 Kings 23:10; 2 Chronicles 28:3, 33:6).

Josiah's reform desecrated the site precisely to end this (2 Kings 23:10). Jeremiah goes further, renaming it in prophecy: because of the innocent blood shed there, it will be called the Valley of Slaughter, and become itself a place of corpses and judgment (Jeremiah 7:31–32; 19:2–6).

By the Second Temple period, this geography had become theology. Jewish apocalyptic literature of the era (1 Enoch among it) already uses the valley's name for a place — or state — of postmortem punishment for the wicked.

This is the sense the word carries by the first century, and the sense in which Moshiach uses it: not a vague metaphor, but a specific inheritance from Israel's prophetic literature, now describing the fate of the unrepentant lost.

It is worth being precise here, because respectful treatment means not flattening two traditions into one. Classical rabbinic literature — the Mishnah and Talmud — generally treats Gehinnom as real but temporary for most sinners: a period of purification, commonly capped at twelve months (cf. m. Eduyot 2:10), after which the soul is released. This is the reasoning behind the custom of reciting Kaddish for a deceased parent for eleven months rather than twelve — so as not to imply the deceased belonged among the wholly wicked.

Respectfully, however, let us say at the outset, "let God be true and every man a liar" Romans 3:4. We will stand with the inerrant Scriptures and the Rabbi who stood up from the dead and not the words of lesser rabbis in the cemetery or possibly even in perdition.

Edwards is preaching in his sermon what the inerrant Bible actually says, that Gehinnom is a fixed and everlasting sentence, and he who has not believed is condemned already. This Yochanan 3:18 datum is the motivational prod to reverse Babel for every tribe and tongue to the ends of the earth.

And how shall they believe without a preacher, and how shall there be a preacher unless one is sent, and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

And the World's Babel must have an Acts 2:7-11 Shavuos reversal, meaning 7000+ language Holy Scriptures for every tribe and tongue to the ends of the earth, and that is the seriousness of this Interactive Media Book.

II
Every γέεννα saying in the Synoptic Gospels

Moshiach's Own Words on Gehinnom

Moshiach uses the word Gehenna (γέεννα) exactly where the rabbinic and prophetic tradition would lead us to expect it: as an already-understood term He does not need to define, always addressed to the moral seriousness of sin, never used loosely or in anger at an individual.

What follows is every instance of the word on His lips, in full, in canonical order.

γέεννα τοῦ πυρός — "the Gehenna of fire"
"But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire." Matthew 5:22

The first mention, in the Sermon on the Mount, and the most startling: Gehinnom is attached not to murder but to contempt — the word Raca (worthless) and the epithet "fool" spoken in anger. The escalation is deliberate: an internal disposition, a legal offense, a capital court, then Gehinnom itself. Judgment moves from the heart outward.

βληθῇ εἰς γέενναν — "cast into Gehenna"
"And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell." Matthew 5:29–30

Hyperbole in service of urgency, not a literal surgical instruction — but the hyperbole only works because Gehinnom is treated as a real enough danger to justify extremity.

The same pairing (eye, hand) recurs at Matthew 18:8–9 and again, with a third limb added, in Mark 9.

ἀπολέσαι ἐν γεέννῃ — "destroy... in Gehenna"
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28

Spoken to the Twelve as He commissions them for mission and warns them of persecution. The comfort and the terror sit in the same sentence: human power ends at the body; only God's judgment reaches the soul.

This verse is the closest parallel, inside the Gospels, to what Edwards's sermon will spend an hour arguing — that the human power to harm is trivial next to the divine power to judge.

εἰς τὴν γέενναν τοῦ πυρός
"Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire." Matthew 18:8–9

Set within the discourse on causing "little ones" to stumble — the warning is social before it is personal. Whatever in a disciple's own life or community becomes an occasion for another's sin is to be amputated without negotiation.

υἱὸν γεέννης — "a child of Gehenna"
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." Matthew 23:15

The only place Gehinnom describes a present identity rather than a future sentence — a person can already be, in character, "a child of Gehenna," before any final judgment is rendered.

This is the sharpest of the Woes against the scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 23.

τῆς κρίσεως τῆς γεέννης — "the judgment of Gehenna"
"Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?" Matthew 23:33

The last and most direct address, closing the same chapter of Woes. Notably, this is the closest the Gospels come to Edwards's own rhetorical register — a direct, second-person accusation naming the peril of the hearers themselves, not a third-person description of judgment in general.

τὸ πῦρ τὸ ἄσβεστον — "the fire that never shall be quenched"
"And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off... And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out... where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." Mark 9:43–48 (abridged; the refrain repeats three times, for hand, foot, and eye)

Mark's version triples the formula and appends the phrase that will matter most for this exhibit: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched — a direct citation of Isaiah 66:24, the closing verse of Isaiah, describing the fate of those who rebelled against God.

Edwards quotes this exact verse of Isaiah near the climax of his own sermon, without needing to name it as Moshiach's source; his congregation, steeped in Scripture, would have heard the echo.

ἐξουσίαν ἐμβαλεῖν εἰς τὴν γέενναν
"But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him." Luke 12:5

The eighth and final Gehenna-saying — and the one Edwards quotes verbatim in the sermon that follows, at the close of his first numbered consideration. The line from the Galilean hillside to the Enfield pulpit runs, in this one case, through an exact quotation.

·

Adjacent to Gehenna, though the word is not used: the parable of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19–31, using Hades), the sheep and the goats sent into "everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41, 46), and the recurring "furnace of fire" with "wailing and gnashing of teeth" in Matthew's judgment parables (13:41–42, 49–50; 22:13; 25:30). These belong to the same body of teaching but use different vocabulary, and are set aside here to keep this list to Gehinnom by name.

A Sermon Inside a Revival

Jonathan Edwards did not write "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" as a stand-alone treatise on Gehinnom.

It was a guest sermon, preached at Enfield, Connecticut, in the middle of the Great Awakening — a season in which Edwards and others (Whitefield chief among them) believed New England was undergoing an extraordinary, Spirit-wrought turning to God.

Contemporary accounts describe interruptions during the delivery itself: people crying out, gripping the pews and pillars of the meetinghouse, overcome before Edwards had finished.

Whatever one makes of those reports, they are the reason this sermon, alone among thousands of colonial sermons, survived as more than a text — it survived as an event.

Edwards's method is the "plain style" of Puritan preaching: a short text (Deuteronomy 32:35), a doctrine drawn strictly from it, a series of numbered proofs, then an extended Application addressed directly to the hearers.

Nothing in the structure is ornamental. Every image — the spider held over flame, the bent bow, the dammed flood — is deployed to make a single logical claim vivid: that the only thing separating any lost person from Gehinnom, at this moment, is God's own restraint, sustained by nothing the sinner has done or could do.

The full text follows below, paragraph by paragraph, in Edwards's own 1741 wording and orthography. Each paragraph carries a note beneath it — historical, rhetorical, or relating back to the Gehinnom material above.

The notes can be hidden to read the sermon uninterrupted, as its original hearers did.

IV
In this verse is threatened the vengeance of God on the wicked unbelieving Israelites, that were God's visible people, and lived under means of grace; and that, notwithstanding all God's wonderful works that he had wrought towards that people, yet remained, as is expressed, ver. 28. void of counsel, having no understanding in them; and that, under all the cultivations of Heaven, brought forth bitter and poisonous fruit; as in the two verses next preceding the text.

NoteEdwards begins, as Puritan practice required, with exegesis before application — establishing that the text is not addressed to pagans but to God's own covenant people who had every advantage and still failed. This will matter for who he means, later, by "this congregation": church-attending New Englanders, not outsiders.

The expression that I have chosen for my text, Their foot shall slide in due time; seems to imply the following things, relating to the punishment and destruction that these wicked Israelites were exposed to.

1. That they were always exposed to destruction, as one that stands or walks in slippery places is always exposed to fall. This is implied in the manner of their destruction's coming upon them, being represented by their foot's sliding. The same is expressed, Psal. 73.18. Surely thou didst set them in slippery places; thou castedst them down into destruction.

2. It implies that they were always exposed to sudden, unexpected destruction. As he that walks in slippery places is every moment liable to fall; he can't foresee one moment whether he shall stand or fall the next; and when he does fall, he falls at once, without warning.

3. Another thing implied is that they are liable to fall of themselves, without being thrown down by the hand of another. As he that stands or walks on slippery ground, needs nothing but his own weight to throw him down.

4. That the reason why they are not fallen already, and don't fall now, is only that God's appointed time is not come. For it is said, that when that due time, or appointed time comes, their foot shall slide. Then they shall be left to fall as they are inclined by their own weight.

NoteFour implications, each sharper than the last: exposure, suddenness, self-caused collapse, and — the hinge of the entire sermon — that the only reason judgment has not yet fallen is timing, not mercy earned. Everything that follows is an expansion of point four.

The observation from the words that I would now insist upon is this: There is nothing that keeps wicked men at any one moment out of Hell, but the mere pleasure of GOD.

By the mere pleasure of God, I mean his sovereign pleasure, his divine will, restrained by no obligation, hinder'd by no manner of difficulty, any more than if nothing else but God's mere will had in the least degree, or in any respect whatsoever, any hand in the preservation of wicked men one moment.

NoteThis is the doctrinal thesis, stated once, in full — the sermon does not restate it as a refrain the way its reputation suggests. Everything from here is proof and then application of this one sentence. Compare Matthew 10:28, above: the same asymmetry between what humans can do and what God alone holds.

I. There is no want of power in God to cast wicked men into Hell at any moment. Men's hands can't be strong when God rises up: the strongest have no power to resist him, nor can any deliver out of his hands.

He is not only able to cast wicked men into Hell, but he can most easily do it. We find it easy to tread on and crush a worm that we see crawling on the earth; so 'tis easy for us to cut or singe a slender thread that any thing hangs by; thus easy is it for God when he pleases to cast his enemies down to Hell.

NoteThe worm-and-thread image is not decorative — it sets up the sermon's most famous figure later (the spider held over the fire). Edwards is building a consistent visual vocabulary of fragility across the whole sermon, not scattering images at random.

2. They deserve to be cast into Hell; so that divine justice never stands in the way, it makes no objection against God's using his power at any moment to destroy them. Yea, on the contrary, justice calls aloud for an infinite punishment of their sins.

The sword of divine justice is every moment brandished over their heads, and 'tis nothing but the hand of divine mercy, and God's mere will, that holds it back.

Note It was for meted out divine justice that Messiah voluntered to receive meted out divine suffering. The arrogant man who thinks his sins do not merit divine justice is also impudent in his thinking that Moshiach need not have satisfied such horrific divine justice for such a righteous specimen as himself. God loves sinners but must punish sin; His justice requires it. Finite sin against an infinite God incurs infinite guilt — the logical premise beneath "infinite punishment." Only an infinite kohen/korban could traverse the musar of Isaiah 53:5. This is a specific doctrinal claim; it is the hinge on which the sermon's proportionality argument turns, and it is against unscriptural annihilationist and universalist readings of the Bible.

3. They are already under a sentence of condemnation to Hell. John 3.18. He that believeth not is condemned already. So that every lost man properly belongs to Hell; that is his place; from thence he is. Joh. 8.23. Ye are from beneath.

They are now the objects of that very same anger and wrath of God that is expressed in the torments of Hell: and the reason why they don't go down to Hell at each moment, is not because God is not then very angry with them; as angry as he is with many of those miserable creatures that are now tormented in Hell.

So that it is not because God is unmindful of their wickedness, and doesn't resent it, that he doesn't let loose his hand and cut them off... The wrath of God burns against them, their damnation doesn't slumber, the pit is prepared, the fire is made ready, the furnace is now hot, ready to receive them, the flames do now rage and glow. The glittering sword is whet, and held over them, and the pit hath opened her mouth under them.

NoteThe tense is the whole argument here: not "will be angry" but "is now angry," not "the fire will be made" but "the furnace is now hot." Edwards collapses future judgment into present fact — a rhetorical move that transforms Gehinnom from a doctrine about the afterlife into a claim about the present moment of anyone listening.

4/5. The Devil stands ready to fall upon them and seize them as his own, at what moment God shall permit him. They belong to him; he has their souls in his possession, and under his dominion... The devils watch them; they stand waiting for them, like greedy hungry lions that see their prey, and expect to have it, but are for the present kept back.

NoteNotice what this image does not say: it does not claim the devil has independent power to act. Even the devil is "kept back" by God — the sermon's entire cosmology keeps a single sovereign restraint at the center, never admitting a dualism or letting a second power compete with it.

6. There are in the souls of wicked men those hellish principles reigning, that would presently kindle and flame out into hell fire, if it were not for God's restraints... The corruption of the heart of man is a thing that is immoderate and boundless in its fury; and while wicked men live here, it is like fire pent up by God's restraints... if Sin was not restrain'd, it would immediately turn the soul into a fiery oven, or a furnace of fire and brimstone.

NoteA striking inward turn: Gehinnom is not only a place one is sent to, but a fire already latent within the lost heart, needing only to be un-restrained. This anticipates later evangelical language of "hell in the heart" and shifts the argument from external punishment to internal nature.

7. It is no security to wicked men for one moment, that there are no visible means of death at hand... lost men walk over the pit of Hell on a rotten covering, and there are innumerable places in this covering so weak that they won't bear their weight, and these places are not seen. The arrows of death fly unseen at noon-day.

8. Natural men's prudence and care to preserve their own lives... don't secure them a moment... Eccles. 2.16. How dieth the wise man? as the fool.

9. All wicked men's pains and contrivance they use to escape Hell, while they continue to reject Messiah, don't secure them from Hell one moment. Almost every natural man that hears of Hell, flatters himself that he shall escape it... But the foolish children of men do miserably delude themselves in their own schemes, and in their confidence in their own strength and wisdom; they trust to nothing but a shadow.

NotePoints seven through nine form a unit: no circumstance — health, wisdom, or effort — offers real security. This is the section modern readers often find most psychologically acute, independent of theology: Edwards is describing ordinary human self-deception about mortality, not only about Gehinnom specifically.

10. God has laid himself under no obligation by any promise to keep any natural man out of Hell one moment. God certainly has made no promises either of eternal life, or of any deliverance or preservation from eternal death, but what are contained in the covenant of grace, the promises that are given in Messiah.

NoteThe tenth and final proof closes the loop: nothing in points one through nine has been an oversight God might yet correct. There is, by design, no promise on the table for the lost — the only door named, throughout, is Messiah.

So that thus it is, that natural men are held in the hand of God over the pit of Hell; they have deserved the fiery pit, and are already sentenced to it... the Devil waiting, Hell gaping, the flames gathering and flashing about them... In short, they have no refuge, nothing to take hold of: all that preserves them every moment is the mere divine will, and uncovenanted unobliged forbearance of an incensed God.

APPLICATION

The use may be of awakening to lost persons in this congregation. This that you have heard is the case of every one of you that are out of Messiah... there is nothing between you and Hell but the air; 'tis only the power and mere pleasure of God that holds you up.

NoteThe pivot from third person ("them," "wicked men") to second person ("you," "this congregation") happens exactly here, and does not let up for the rest of the sermon. Everything before this line was argument; everything after is address.

Your wickedness makes you as it were heavy as lead, and tend downwards with great weight and pressure towards Hell; and if God should let you go, you would immediately sink and swiftly descend & plunge into the bottomless gulf, and your healthy constitution, and your own care and prudence, and best contrivance, and all your righteousness, would have no more influence to uphold you and keep you out of Hell, than a spider's web would have to stop a falling rock.

The wrath of God is like great waters that are dammed for the present; they increase more and more, and rise higher and higher, till an outlet is given, and the longer the stream is stop'd, the more rapid and mighty is its course, when once it is let loose.

The bow of God's wrath is bent, and the arrow made ready on the string, and justice bends the arrow at your heart, and strains the bow, and 'tis nothing but the mere pleasure of God, and that an angry God, without any promise or obligation at all, that keeps the arrow one moment from being made drunk with your blood.

NoteThe dammed flood and the drawn bow are the sermon's two central images of stored wrath — pressure accumulating rather than being spent. This judgment is not God losing his temper in the moment, but a deferred and compounding justice.

The God that holds the wicked over the pit of Hell, much as one holds a spider, or some loathsome insect, over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked; his wrath towards you burns like fire; he looks upon you as worthy of nothing else, but to be cast into the fire... You have offended him infinitely more than ever a stubborn rebel did his prince: and yet 'tis nothing but his merciful hand that holds you from falling into the fire every moment.

NoteThis is the single most quoted line of American literature from the colonial period, and the one most often excerpted without its surrounding argument. Read in context, the spider is not the point of the sermon; it is the twenty-somethingth image restating the doctrine stated at the start — the mere pleasure of God is what holds anyone up, moment to moment.

O sinner! Consider the fearful danger you are in: 'tis a great furnace of wrath, a wide and bottomless pit, full of the fire of wrath, that you are held over in the hand of that God, whose wrath is provoked and incensed as much against you as against many of the damned in Hell: you hang by a slender thread, with the flames of divine wrath flashing about it, and ready every moment to singe it, and burn it asunder; and you have no interest in any Mediator, and nothing to lay hold of to save yourself.

1. Whose wrath it is: it is the wrath of the infinite GOD... Luke 12.4,5. And I say unto you my friends, be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do: but I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear; fear him, which after he hath killed, hath power to cast into Hell; yea I say unto you, fear him.

NoteHere Edwards quotes, word for word, one of the eight Gehenna sayings gathered above (Luke 12:5) — the sermon's most explicit point of contact with the Savior's own recorded speech. He does not comment on the quotation; in a Bible-literate congregation, the citation was expected to do its own work.

2. 'Tis the fierceness of his wrath that you are exposed to... Rev. 19.15. There we read of the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. The words are exceeding terrible: if it had only said, the wrath of God, the words would have implied that which is infinitely dreadful: but 'tis not only said so, but the fierceness and wrath of God: the fury of God! the fierceness of the LORD!

Consider this, you that are here present, that yet remain in an unregenerate state. That God will execute the fierceness of his anger, implies that he will inflict wrath without any pity... there shall be no moderation or mercy, nor will God then at all stay his rough wind.

NoteThe claim of judgment "without pity" is the sharpest doctrinal edge in the sermon, and Edwards's text stands as delivered.

3. The misery you are exposed to is that which God will inflict to that end, that he might shew what that wrath of the LORD is... But the great GOD is also willing to shew his wrath, and magnify his awful majesty and mighty power in the extreme sufferings of his enemies.

4. 'Tis everlasting wrath. It would be dreadful to suffer this fierceness and wrath of Almighty God one moment; but you must suffer it to all eternity: there will be no end to this exquisite horrible misery... you will know certainly that you must wear out long ages, millions of millions of ages, in wrestling and conflicting with this almighty merciless vengeance; and then... you will know that all is but a point to what remains.

NoteThis is eish olam and deraon olam of Daniel and Isaiah, categorically everlasting for the lost.

How dreadful is the state of those that are daily and hourly in danger of this great wrath, and infinite misery! But this is the dismal case of every soul in this congregation, that has not been born again, however moral and strict, sober and religious they may otherwise be... If we knew that there was one person, and but one, in the whole congregation that was to be the subject of this misery, what an awful thing would it be to think of!

NoteThis paragraph is the historical hinge point: eyewitness accounts describe the interruptions beginning around here in the actual 1741 delivery. Whatever weight one gives those reports, the text itself is doing something specific — narrowing from "every soul" to the possibility of "one person," forcing each hearer to wonder whether it is them.

And now you have an extraordinary opportunity, a day wherein Messiah has flung the door of mercy wide open, and stands in the door calling and crying with a loud voice to poor sinners; a day wherein many are flocking to him, and pressing into the kingdom of God... How are your souls as precious as the souls of the people at Suffield, where they are flocking from day to day to Messiah?

NoteThe reference to Suffield (the neighboring town) is a real, local detail — Edwards is naming an actual revival happening nearby to create social pressure and hope in the same breath: others like you are already crossing over. The Application, notably, spends more space on this open door than on any single image of wrath.

Are there not many here that have lived long in the world, that are not to this day born again... And you that are young men, and young women, will you neglect this precious season that you now enjoy... And you children that are lost, don't you know that you are going down to Hell, to bear the dreadful wrath of that God that is now angry with you every day, and every night?

NoteEdwards addresses three groups by age in turn — the old, the young unmarried, and children — a standard Puritan homiletic device for ensuring no demographic in the room could consider the warning meant for someone else.

Therefore let every one that is out of Messiah, now awake and fly from the wrath to come. The wrath of almighty GOD is now undoubtedly hanging over great part of this congregation: let every one fly out of Sodom: Haste and escape for your lives, look not behind you, escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed.

NoteThe final line quotes the angels' words to Lot fleeing Sodom (Genesis 19:17) — the sermon's last image is not fire but flight, and its final imperative is not despair but escape. It ends, deliberately, on an open door rather than a closed one.

The Three Most Fearful Words in the Bible

Covering--what Ruth had and Orpah Lacked

Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach and the Empty Tomb

Jude 1:7εκπορνευσασαι πυρος αιωνιου. — The Three Most Frightening Words in the Bible

There is something very frightening. There are three most frightening words in the Bible.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of salvation wisdom.

When Jonathan Edwards preached his message, the people cried out in fear. Some fainted. They were scared. But they came to salvation and the Great Awakening began.

So this message should frighten you. Who would not be frightened by it?

The first of the three words is εκπορνευσασαι ekpornesasei. This is modern Greek pronunciation. The epsilon kappa is a intensifier.

And you see that word porn as in pornography or porno or pornographic or fornication.

Now, my name is Phil. It's spelled with P but it has an f sound.

And this word is spelled with a p, but with the word fornication, the p changes to an f in English like "Phil." And what does it mean? It means whoring around. W H O R I N G A R O U N D. Whoring around.

And this word is found in a little book with only 25 verses.

And this book is the book of Judas or Yehuda or Jude.

They obviously don't go by Judas because of the anathema of the traitor, betrayer, informant, etc. But it's spelled exactly the same way in Hebrew, of course. Yehuda Ish K'riot.

"Whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire." Matthew 5:22

Now, why am I bringing up this word εκπορνευσασαι ekpornesasei first? Because when I got to New York in 1979,

(actually I was living in New Jersey for 3 years) but when I actually took over my office on 47th Street on Labor Day, 1981, sleeping on the floor for almost 10 years...

And also having some powerful encounters with God.

One time He put me in a trance and He whispered to me about a tragic man committing suicide and that I had to call him. He didn't use the word suicide. He just made it clear that until I called him, He wasn't going to let me do anything else. So I phoned the man.

Everyone called him DocRon. Turns out DocRon had a gun hidden under his bed and was going to kill himself that very day. So the Lord threw me into a trance and told me to call him.

I wasn't able to save DocRon's life. His wife called me up a few weeks later, very angry.

I could feel this idea of a lawsuit coming. And she said, "What did you say to my husband that day he killed himself? And why didn't you tell me that he was suicidal so that we could have called the police and the EMS and saved his life?" She was very angry.

But how could I explain a word of knowledge to this unbelieving Jewish woman? How could I get into I Corinthians 12:8 λόγος γνώσεως (logos gnōseōs) with her?

Her husband was a medical doctor everyone called "DocRon," and this tragic man asserted to me that he was somehow associated with the Bee Gees, I assume, but do not know, he was suggesting like Dr. Nick, who was associated with Elvis Presley. Everyone called this medical doctor DocRon.

And this tragic man DocRon, who committed suicide, I met in Fort Lauderdale after a performance of The Rabbi From Tarsus at Rev. D. James Kennedy's Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Florida. He came to where I was staying and mentioned Temple Aron Kodesh, which I had helped to start, and said he needed to talk to me, and took me out to eat.

And then he flew me from New York down to Florida several times — not once, not twice, maybe three or four times. And he had me meet all of his family, including his mother in the nursing home. He had me go out and meet Barry Gibb of the BeeGees. I met Barry's wife. I didn't really know how to witness to Barry. I gave him a copy of Everything You Need to Grow a Messianic Synagogue. I'm not sure Barry understand what that was all about.

But, anyway, the whole thing was that this tragic man was suicidal and he was getting ready to commit suicide, and he was like somebody in a shoe store trying on a pair of shoes. He was trying to see if he, as a Jew, could get those Jesus shoes on — if they would fit him, if he could somehow escape this suicidal depression his drug use had plagued him with.

And on the day the Lord threw me into a trance... and that only happened twice. Once after the Hebron massacre of 1994, of Baruch Goldstein.

Goldstein went into a mosque and killed all these Muslims, and then his co-workers came to Brooklyn and tried to shut down Beth Shalom. And the Lord put me in a trance so that I could know exactly how to scare them off. And the Lord scared them off — I didn't. But it was a power encounter. And the Ruach Hakodesh terrorized the terrorists (Acts 9:1-6).

But this with DocRon and was the first time he put me in a trance. And this was to save this man's life, which I was not able to do.

But anyway, it's in the morning. I'm at my computer. I'm on 47th Street, and the Holy Spirit is speaking to me in a trance state — Paul was in a trance in Jerusalem, and Peter was in a trance on the roof of Simon the tanner in Joppa. So it is a Pentecostal sign or wonder. It's a miracle in the Bible in the book of Acts. And miracles are still for today.

And so I'm in this trance and the Holy Spirit tells me:

"Call Docron."

And I said, "No."

And He said, "Call Docron."

And I said, "No."

And then He said it a third time, "Call Docron."

I said, "I don't have anything to say to him."

And I was in this trance, and I just knew I wasn't going to get anything done. I had a stack of work to do at that time — I was doing the Complete Book for Artists for Israel and some other work. And I knew I wasn't going to get any work done unless I obeyed the Lord.

So, sort of irritably and not understanding at all what was happening, I picked up the phone. I dug around in my wallet, got his phone number, and it started to ring.

The phone was ringing. Then his wife answered the phone.

I said, "Can I speak with DocRon? This is Phil Goble."

She said, "Okay, I'll go get him."

Then he came on the phone. I still didn't know what I was supposed to say — and that's why I told the Lord I didn't want to call him. I didn't have anything to say to him.

And then the Holy Spirit gave me the words.

DocRon took the phone, and he was kind of incoherent.

"What is...Phil?"

I said, "Docron, the Holy Spirit has a question for you."

"Oh, yeah. What is it?"

"Which is better, DocRon? The Holy Spirit wants to know: Go to Temple Aron Kodesh and fast and pray and get through this depression? Or take a gun and blow your brains out, DocRon? The Holy Spirit wants to know."

Now, I didn't know he had a gun.

I didn't know there was a gun hidden under his bed. I didn't know any of that. His wife told me later, in a menacing tone, like she was in lawsuit mode — she could sue me or the ministry for millions of dollars because we knew that her husband was suicidal and was going to kill himself and we didn't tell her, to save his life!

And that's not what was going on.

What was going on was I didn't have a clue. All I knew was I was put in a trance. I couldn't get any work done until I called him. I didn't know what in the world to say to him, until the phone stopped ringing, until his wife picked up the phone, until she went and got him. And THEN I knew what to say to him.

And I said those words, but I was like a robot, not really knowing what I was saying, because if I had really, really known that he had a gun under his bed, I would have called the police. I was just giving him a word of knowledge. That's all I knew.

So I was doing the Rabbi from Tarsus every weekend. I was flying here, flying there, going to colleges, universities, different congregations, etc.

So I flew somewhere, I don't remember where now. I did a performance. I came in, as I always did, on a Monday.

I had a real heavy crate that had the scenery in it and everything, and the costume and the makeup. And I was in a four-story walk-up. The crate did have wheels on it. I finally got it up the stairs. I went into the office. And I collapsed.

Then I noticed the blinking light on the answering machine. In those days you had answering machines.

So I turned the answering machine on and the lady's voice I recognized.

She said, "I'm so and so and I just returned from the funeral home and I'm going to Temple Aron Kodesh tonight and I thought you should know because he was a friend of yours that DocRon committed suicide three days ago"

... And of course... or two days ago, whatever, whenever I called him, whenever I spoke to him he committed suicide very very shortly after that.

Now I didn't know he was going to do that. I was working at my computer, kind of a workaholic.

It was the same thing when the Baruch Goldstein guys were doing their Beth Shalom persecution.

Then also the Lord put me in a trance and the Lord said, "The front door!"

And I said, "The front door?"

And He said, "Yes, the front door."

I said, "What about the front door?"

He said, "Run down there right now."

I ran down there and looked through the window on the door.

I said, "Lord, I don't see anything. What is it?"

He said, "Put your eyes on the rental car and don't take them off."

And then that's when I saw them trying to pin the rental car in with their cars.

And I ran out and told him, "Okay, guys, you either move these cars right now or you're all all going to jail." And of course, after that, they left us alone. And the Lord wasn't finished with the main guy because he got really scared later. And that's another story.

But why am I telling you all this? Am I telling you this because I want you to think, "Wow, what a guy. What a guy." No, my friend. I'm telling you this because you should know to tremble when you see that word εκπορνευσασαι ekpornesasei "whoring around" הִתְמַכְּרוּ לִזְנוּת and I mean tremble like I do.

Jude verse 7. My grandfather was a whoremonger.

And what this verse, what this particular word says, is that "whoring around" will get you in the piros aeoniou, the fire of forever, the forever fire, the aish olam in the Orthodox Jewish Bible.

Now today we have a world of young people, not just in America, but all over the world, that are whoring around, living with their boyfriends, fornicating, etc.

Some of them are thinking more about getting another tattoo than they are reading the Bible. And some of them might not even bother to look this word up.

And if they did look it up, they might not be able to read it. But I'm reading it for you.

And I'm telling you that when my mother gave birth to two boys, they were two grandchildren of a whoremonger, not just a whoremonger but an alcoholic whore-monger. We were George Gibson Jr.'s, my brother and I.

And my brother died of alcoholism like his grandfather, even on the same day, August 12 2008, like my Grandfather also an alcoholic, also died on August 12, 1952.

And the devil was coming for me.

And it was like, you remember what Moshiach said, Kefa/Peter, Hassatan has demanded you. And actually he got you... all of that is packed into that particular verb which you cannot get in English. It's in the Greek but, in English, it is untranslatable. It says, Satan has demanded you, you know, like Job, and he's got you. In other words, he got permission, and you're going to be in his power. But remember the One that's at the right hand of the Father, seated on the throne at the right hand of Elokim HaAv. He said, "But I have prayed for you." Then he says, "And when you have turned back," in other words, the devil's going to take you down the Primrose Path and you're in his custody. He's demanded you and he's got you and he's going to take you.

But you will turn back because I'm going to pray for you. And when you do per turn back, strengthen your brothers. In other words, you're their shepherd. So, you know, you've got to do what a shepherd does, which is to strengthen the flock.

"And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell." Matthew 5:29

And in my case, the devil sifted me like wheat and he was going to go after me. But the Lord used these verses, actually this one verse, Jude 1:7, actually studying this one book. If you go to afii.org/afii.pdf

all lowercase, if you go to page 684, you will see this book what I'm talking about here. And the Lord had me meditate on that from 1981 on. He had me write the whole course.

He had me meditate on each word because it's all about whore-mongering pastors. It's all about so-called moral failures. What a circumlocution. What a nice way to dress up something.

Listen, my friend. If Jimmy Swaggert had been required to learn Greek and if he had memorized those three words, starting with this word εκπορνευσασαι ekpornesasei, I'm sure he wouldn't have been whoring around. Because there is no whoring around worth eternal fire. And if you whore around and you don't turn back, you will go to the eternal fire.

And this the Lord used to keep me strong for something like 50 years in the "Preacher's Graveyard," New York City. And by the grace of God, I was never tempted in that area to the point of failure, moral failure.

David Wilkerson once said, "I almost committed adultery." So the devil came for him. And the devil will come for you and you must meditate on the word of God.

And frankly, the English translations, even the Orthodox Jewish Bible, are not enough. You must meditate on these words themselves. There's a whole world of meaning in εκπορνευσασαι ekpornesasei.

There's a whole world of meaning in piros.

There's a whole world of meaning in aeoniou.

And no translator can really plume the depths of the meaning of these words. Compared to Greek, English is caveman language. Uggh.

I'm not looking down my intellectual academic nose at you. I'm talking about your soul here. I'm talking about saving you from the fire.

I'm talking about the fornicating youth of America, the fornicating senior citizens of America, the fornicators in the nursing home, the fornicators in the frat house, in the sorority house, the fornicators who are everywhere.

There's two things they're doing. Fornicating and getting tattoos.

And of course smoking lots of legalized pot. And they think they're having quite a party.

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28

But the half brother of Moshiach Ben Dovid who grew up watching his older brother in the house and in the carpentry shop with Yosef Ben Dovid, who grew up watching him. This one who was an itinerate preacher, a mevaser. This one knew what he taught and knew what his doctrine was. And he's giving you the doctrine once for all delivered to the Kadeshim. Verse three. And that doctrine is fornicators will burn forever.

So, if you're one of these preachers who likes to do your sermon on Saturday night and then you spend a little time online with the pornography...

I have real bad news for you. You might as well forget preaching because these are actually preachers that Jude is talking about. And that word pornography is actually found in this word. If you think in your heart these thoughts, it's the same as doing them. As far as the Moshiach Ben Dovid is concerned, you are going to burn in the eternal fire.

If you're one of these women that collects men like stamps, you are going to burn in the eternal fire.

If you're one of these men who is always checking out the derrière of every woman he looks at, you're going to burn in the eternal fire.

The whole business of salvation is the Moshiach Ben Dovid, the Savior From Eternal Fire. Why was He on the Tree experiencing the fire of God's wrath? To save you from the eternal fire.

And these whoring around preachers Jude is referring to had subverted the faith. They had turned grace into licentiousness and also a license to sin. And they had twisted Paul's teaching to their own destruction as false teachers do the rest of the Scripture.

And when Kefa/Peter writes second Kefa, he has this Jude book in front of him and he's telling you the same thing, that these people do not have the Holy Spirit.

If you think that you have the Holy Spirit and you are pornographic in your mind or in your body or in your imagination, you are misled. You are deceiving yourself. It says they they lack the Spirit meaning the Ruach Hakodesh.

I want to give a testimony today. I'm 83 years old. I arrived in New York and started living here in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. And I think that name is more than coincidental.

And it was 1981, Labor Day. And once again, the Lord was doing a Labor Day miracle, like the Wishing Well Motel. Our website, afii.org, went live on Labor Day. And everything happened on Labor Day.

But if you subtract 1981 from 2026, you get about 45 years, I believe. So, I've almost been here 50 years. And this little Greek book, as long as I keep my nose in it, I'm okay. If I take my nose out of it, I get in trouble.

If you think, "Oh, you know, I'm such a spiritual giant. I don't need to learn Greek." Well, that's what Jimmy Swagger thought.

And you know what? Most Bible colleges don't require it. But for me being the grandson of a whore-monger, you might call me Phil Goble Whore-monger Jr.

For me, God required this. He required it. And if you go to afii.org/afii.pdf, you will see it. page 684.

If you go to our YouTube channel, I pronounce every single word for you.

We have a little Bible school. It's not worth much to most people. But it's valuable because with this little Bible school you can let Jude keep you from the fire. In verse 21 he speaks of snatching people out of the fire. I let Jude be my teacher. Let him be your discipler.

And these are the three most terrifying words in the Bible. And if the youth of America, for instance, would simply look at these three words, we might have an instant national revival

Because it would literally scare the hell out of them.

These three words.

Lord, I want to pray right now that somebody will get scared. Scared enough to run from temptation.

See the fire and run from temptation. Like Moshi Rosen, every day he would wake up and he would see that fire and he would go out on the street and start giving out broadsides. And even when he got cancer, he could still see the fire and he could still evangelize because he could see the fire. And people are not seeing the fire. And so they are fornicating and they are enjoying pornography and they are looking with their eyes. I made a covenant with my eyes not to look on a maid (Job 31:1).

Now the little Muslim women are dressing in a modest way. They're covering up their derrière and their hair. And I applaud them for that. Of course, that won't save them from the eternal fire, but it might help somebody who might otherwise be tempted to look at them.

And for that, I applaud them. And I want to pray right now that every woman will consider tznius (modesty) and will think about not making a stumbling block for "my brother." If my brother is going to, you know, drink wine to excess, I will not drink wine. I will not make a stumbling block for my brother. If my brother's going to look at my derrière, I'm going to wear a a burka or whatever. I will not make a stumbling block for my brother.

In the early kehillah, they didn't even sit together. The women sat on one side, the men sat on the other. That's why, you know, some lady is calling out to her husband who's sitting across the room: "Hey Harry, what is he talking about?" And Paul says, I don't allow a woman to blurt out like that.

He's not saying, I don't allow Philip the Mevaser's four virgin daughters to prophesy, they can't prophesy. He's not saying that. He doesn't despise prophesying. He's talking about the seating arrangement and the blurting.

What I'm saying is that "without holiness no man will see God" and with whoring around there will be the lake of fire.

So, you know, someone's going to say, "Oh, you know what? He's really getting into legalism tonight, isn't he, friends?" No, my friend. I'm not talking about illegalism. I'm talking about the agam haeish, the lake of fire. That's what I want to avoid.

I'm referring to the lake of fire and whoring around gets you in the lake of fire. And if you had a grandfather who was a whore-monger, there's a little bit of grandpa in you. It's called a generational sin, a generational curse going to the third and fourth generation, and in your flesh there is no good thing. Romans 7:18.

"But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee." Matthew 11:24

And so with me, what the Lord did was...Okay, I've given this boy some pretty important ministry. I better not let him get swallowed by the devil here because the devil goes around like a roaring lion seeing who he can swallow. So, what I'm going to do while he's in this trance and while he's doing all this writing and all this stuff on 47th Street in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, what I'm going to do is I'm going to have him put together a Greek course based on Jude. And this will force this boy for the next 45 years to keep his nose in the Greek New Testament, especially on page 828 of the Greek New Testament fourth revised edition with the dictionary published by the United Bible Society that has the wonderful Greek New Testament edited by Barbara Aland, Kirk Aland etc. And this is the Greek Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament United Bible Society.

Lord, I want to pray that someone will receive the Lord tonight because the Lord cares for you. He loves you. He does not want you to stumble. He did not want Peter to stumble, but he saw that it was going to happen because Peter had to be pruned. He had to be sifted like wheat and certain things, certain things like pride and bravado had to be sifted out of him. So he was turned over to the devil for the destruction of his flesh. But the Messiah prayed for him and he did come back and he did get restored. Moshiach Ben Dovid, come into my heart, forgive my sins, take control of my life, and I will serve you and follow you all the days of my life.

But right now I want to just say a word about having a spiritual covering.

What did Ruth say? She had come from unbelievers, Moabite people. Her sister had gone back to them.

But she wanted to be with God's people. And by this I mean believing

Jews who were filled with the Holy Spirit.

And so she asked Boaz to put his covering over her.

And if you read the New Testament carefully, the B'rit Chadashah, you find that there are certain things that must be in a healthy congregation.

And it says they continued steadfastly. We're talking about the shluchim and the believers in the breaking of bread, the fellowship, and the prayers (Acts 2:42). But there was the word of the shluchim, the B'rit Chadashah.

And they met house-to-house and in the Beis Hamikdash in the Ulam Shlomo. And they were together all the time. And they never stopped preaching.

And this made a certain covering that would protect them.

And they did not come under the fellowship of unbelievers.

It says, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers." We are believers. We live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, including the 66 books of the Bible.

And we are engaged in a battle for souls and spiritual warfare.

"The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 13:41-42

And when I heard in the prayer meeting tonight about a man named Jerry who had cancer, who cried out for prayer, and he came to couple of the people that are in our ministry. And he found shelter by coming under the shelter of the most high God. And they prayed for him, and now he's healed of cancer.

And think of how hopeless his life would have been if he had not come under that shelter, that wonderful shelter that Ruth found under the shelter of Boaz and God's people. And we read in that book in those four chapters about the difference between Moab, the difference between Ruth's sister and her people, and the people of God. And that difference is still true today.

You're either in a congregation where people believe and where the word is preached and faithfully taught, or you aren't. And if you're not in a congregation where the Bible is believed and faithfully taught, you are not in a safe place. You are not protected from the demonic. And in my ministry, and I've been in the ministry now for a long time, when I came to Florida, there were no Messianic congregations. And the devil was very real, and he was going to get rid of me for sure. And the Lord sent people to help us. And when Temple Aron Kodesh started and those other two Messianic congregations, there was a covering.

But there were unbelievers who did not want to come under that covering, and they caused a great deal of trouble. They weren't really believers. They weren't really believers. You have to become a real believer, my friend. You've got to come under the covering. And if you're not willing to do that, sooner or later, you will go on down the road. And that's what happened with Ruth's sister. She kissed salvation goodbye. She kissed salvation goodbye. She was not willing to come under the covering of real believers. And I'm praying for people right now who are going through terrible distress, maybe even a nervous breakdown. I pray for people who are extremely unhappy and not in the right place with the Lord. And there are many liberal congregations where there are wonderful people, sincere people, lovely people, who don't know you, Lord. And they are not a safe place to be. Sooner or later we're going to be in trouble unless we come under the sheltering arms of the believers. And oh God, I want to pray right now

for every congregation where the Bible is believed and faithfully taught, that people will come in out of the cold, that they will come in and find the warm protection of the Lord's people. The 66 books of the Bible must be preached. Amen. Not just the Tanakh, the entire Bible. And we can't go on with a congregation that is not right. Sooner or later we will be harmed. And I pray, dear God, that that will not happen. That many people who are in liberal congregations or congregations where the entire Bible is not preached or congregations where there's an unhealthy thing going on, some immorality of some kind, some exploitation, some evil, that they will get out, that they will run while they can and that they will find what Lot's wife did not find: she didn't run fast enough. And she looked back. We cannot do that.

And oh God in my life I have tried to live a sacrificial lifestyle. I have tried to do what is right so that the word of God goes forth and that I don't make any demands or take anything that's going to stop the flow of God's word. And the word of God has gone forth through this ministry. And we give God all the glory. But we have had to maintain the spiritual protection of this ministry which has required us to have a nightly prayer meeting which has been going on since Mother's Day 2021.

Over 5 years now. This is not to boast. This is to tell you that at this time we could not even do this ministry without this. Because there are demonic hosts that we are dealing with. We have opened several cans of worms with different battles that we are waging. And right now for the Orthodox Jewish Bible to be distributed all over Crown Heights, which is going on, this prayer meeting is absolutely essential. If you are in a situation where you do not have a congregation, where you do not have a pastor, where you do not have a prayer group, where you are not really covered, where you are in a congregation that does not have saving faith, and does not preach saving faith, and does not believe in the Scriptures...I'm talking about the 66 books of the Bible...if you are in a situation like that, you are in a grave danger zone, a danger zone for your own soul. This is the thing that people don't want to hear. Moshiach Ben David saves from hell fire.

Did you hear what I just said? Moshiach Ben David saves from hell fire. If you are in a congregation that does not preach that, and if that's the only real spiritual nutrition you're getting, I, as mature as I am in the Lord, I would not be able to maintain myself in that situation myself. I would not. And I don't think Billy Graham could either. And I don't think anybody that I know, David Wilkerson, anybody that was has ever been around, I don't think any of them could maintain their spiritual life in that kind of situation.

We have all these cults, we have all these liberal churches, we have all these unbelieving congregations, we have all these places where we're in danger if we go there. We can't do it. What does the Bible tell you about this danger? The Bible tells you, Do not even let them in your house. And that means in your in your house congregation. Don't even admit them if they come to you with the with the with insufficient doctrine. Don't even allow them in your house. And that doesn't apply just to JWs, that applies to anybody (2 Yochanan 1:10). It could be a Roman Catholic priest that isn't born again. It could be a a rabbi who isn't born again. It could be anybody. You cannot go that direction.

Listen, go back and reread the Brit Chadasha. Are you more spiritual than those people? Well, I'm not giving you some kind of novel teaching here. This is fundamental. This is what everybody knows.

But in our day there are so many false teachers and so many wild and crazy things going on that that people don't even know what what false doctrine or what true doctrine is. They're floundering around. They don't even know what they believe or what they don't believe. And they may not even be saved. Did you hear what I said? You have to be saved. Are you really saved? It says they went out from us because they were not of us. If they had been of us, they would have remained with us. There's something about salvation. Fish swim with fish. If you are a believer, you must find a congregation.

A lady in our ministry, you know, she just got up one morning and she she went to a congregation. And the Lord immediately grabbed her and saved her and she was filled with the Holy Spirit. Then years later, she came to Beth Shalom. And Beth Shalom has been a safe place for her. But only because of prayer and fasting and all the things that we're doing. And woe to us if we ever make Beth Shalom or Artists for Israel an unsafe place for anybody. Woe to us.

And right now I have to go in there at Beth Shalom on Sunday. And I'm doing something crazy. And maybe I shouldn't be doing it. Maybe I've lost my mind. I don't know. But whatever I'm doing all I can say is...

It's a safe place for those people. And you know what? When congregations have multiple lawsuits because so-called "men of God" have touched them or done other things and now they are "survivors" and now they have lawyers and they want to do lawsuits and get millions of dollars. This is the kind of thing that happens when this covering that I'm talking about is not protected. And it means that people are going to have to pick up the tree and follow the Lord

because he will say "I never knew you" if you don't. And if you think that the ministry is a place to get money...if you think that the ministry is a place where lust and carnality can be tolerated...if you think that false doctrine is something we can tolerate, then you don't know the Lord. You don't know Who we're dealing with. And I'm not sure this message is very good or or as far as homiletics are concerned I wouldn't want to make this one of my sermons to offer on Sermoncentral or something. But in my broken way I've tried to tell you that you must keep your testimony at all costs. Without holiness, no man will see the Lord.

And we don't take advantage of people. We don't go into homes and manipulate weak-willed women and get their money. We're not interested in any of these demonic perks.

"So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 13:49-50

Right now, I could have a terminal disease. I have to see a doctor in 2 days.

If I have to go and be with the Lord, I want to tell you right now, and I can say this with all humility, I have absolutely nothing that I've hidden or done that I have to ask the Lord to forgive me for. I have fought the good fight, I have kept the faith, I've finished the race, I've lived a sacrificial lifestyle, I finished what God gave me to do, and I'm ready to go if, by God's Grace, it's time to go.

But my friend, I'm afraid you're not in that position right now. You better get in that position real quick. It's time to really get saved. It's time to come under the covering...What am I talking about "a covering"? Do I mean some kind of shelter where you can be covered from the storm of raindrops? Am I talking about some kind of tornado covering or some kind of weather covering? Am I talking about something like that? My friend, I'm talking about the kehillah as the devil covering. The devil hates the word of God. He hates the blood of the Lamb. We overcome the devil by the word of our testimony and the blood of the Lamb. If you're not in a congregation where the blood of the Lamb is important, you're already in a demonic place of danger. Because the only thing that makes Satan tremble is the blood of the Lamb. And if the rabbi has nothing to say about the blood of the Lamb, and if the people in the in the in the shul have nothing to say about the blood of the Lamb, you might as well be in in a satanic cult because you are not covered. You are not protected. It's time to get saved. It's time to come in out of the cold. It's time to really get right with God. It's time now. Not tomorrow, not the next day. It's time now.

You say, "Well, you sound very judgmental, Dr. Goble." I'm not being judgmental. Look, if somebody's walking in front of a train, do you yell? When I was a little boy, there were two missionary children. And their father was on furlough, and he was going to this Baptist church where I went. And these little boys were going to the Sunday school where I went. But one of them loved to ride his bicycle as fast as he could down Madison Street where I lived. And every afternoon after school, I would look out the living room window, and there he would be with his little tiny brother on the back of the bicycle and they were racing like mad. And I said to myself, I wonder why he's racing like that. What is he trying to beat? What's going on? And what I didn't know was or it hadn't occurred to me was that there was a train that came through and it crossed Madison Street about 15 minutes after school was out. And this little boy was racing that train every day after school. He felt like if he could pedal that bicycle fast enough he could get down Madison Street and across those tracks in time. And that was what he was doing.

Notice carefully. He wasn't in the house of God. He wasn't in the Baptist church. Notice. He wasn't at the altar. He wasn't praying. He wasn't doing what I also wasn't doing. And for that reason I was a little unsaved child and he was a little unsaved child, I guess, and so was his little brother on the back of the bicycle. I don't know.

But one day my mother came in absolutely white. She looked like she had seen a ghost. And she came into the house and she saw me watching television and she collapsed. She said, "I thought it was you." I said, "What are you talking about?" She was referring to bones and blood and skulls and human tissue and a twisted up bicycle. And she thought that was my bicycle. And she thought that was me. And it very well could have been me. But by the mercy of God, it it wasn't me. If you are not in a congregation where the Bible is believed and faithfully taught, if you're not in a prayer group, if you're not under the covering of the Lord, if you're not under the covering that Ruth was under but that Orpah wasn't under,

you're in a very grave danger zone. Like those two little boys on that bicycle.

And what am I doing? Am I doing some kind of holier-than-thou thing where I look down on you on how wrong you are? No. I'm doing what I would have done. If I had been standing there on Madison by those train tracks, I would have screamed. And maybe the lead boy pedaling the bicycle, maybe he would have hit the brakes in time. Or maybe I would have run out and actually pushed them over. It would be better to get a bruise and a cut than to get run over by a a train. And that's what this message is. It's a raw screaming shout to save you. To save you. You cannot be saved without a kehillah covering. Even the ganav on the Tree had a pastor hanging right beside him. And if you will look at Acts chapter 2 verse 42, you will see the ingredients. They continued in the teaching, the breaking of bread, the fellowship, and the prayers. If you don't have that, you are not in a safe place. Sooner or later, it's going to catch up with you. Sooner or later, there will be a train wreck in your life. And it's not necessary. These boys could be my age today. They didn't have to do that.

Oh God, I ask right now that somebody would understand what it means to be in a healthy congregation, where the Bible is believed and faithfully taught, where no one has to worry about being exploited either carnally or financially or in any other way, where the ministers make sacrifices so that they can preach sacrificially like Paul did, who didn't even charge. And oh God, I pray all of this. Moshiach Ben Dovid, come into my heart. Forgive my sins. Get me into a congregation where the Bible is believed and faithfully taught. Help me to go back and maybe take another look at that book, Everything You Need To Grow a Messianic Synagogue, and see everything that's in it. There's enough there to have a shul, but it's a shul in God. It's a shul in the scriptures. It's a shul in the Ruach HaKodesh, and not an empty place without believers.

"And upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18

Now I have to talk about those in hell who are מְשִׁיחֵי שֶׁקֶר (meshichei sheker) — literally "messiahs of falsehood/lie."

I also want to speak about the Gehinnom consequences of making hoda'ah confession of a מָשִׁיחַ שֶׁקֶר (mashiach sheker, Greek ψευδόχριστοι (pseudochristoi, Matthew 24:24). I also have to speak about an insufficient saving hoda'ah confession. Ya'akov/James 2:19 says "You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!" (Σὺ πιστεύεις ὅτι εἷς ἐστιν ὁ Θεός; καλῶς ποιεῖς· καὶ τὰ δαιμόνια πιστεύουσιν καὶ φρίσσουσιν).

This is referring to the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4, "Shema Yisrael, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad"): "God is one" (εἷς ἐστιν ὁ Θεός) is a direct echo of the Shema's core confession. Ya'akov/James is arguing against a purely propositional, creedal notion of faith — reciting or affirming the Shema as a הַצְהָרַת אֱמוּנָה declaration of faith is, in his framing, something even demons can do (and do, correctly, while trembling). It's orthodoxy without orthopraxy.

This sits inside the larger argument of James 2:14–26, where he's making the case that אֱמוּנָה בְּלִי מַעֲשִׂים מֵתָה הִיא — "faith without works is dead" (v. 26) — using Abraham (v. 21–23) and Rahab (v. 25) as counter-examples of faith that acted. The demons stand as the negative foil: they have correct monotheistic belief (better than most humans, arguably — they don't doubt), full emotional response (φρίσσουσιν, "shudder"), but no saving relationship, because there's no accompanying obedience/trust-in-action.

So Ya'akov/James 2:19, read against Deuteronomy 6:4, is where he implies that mere nominal, formal assent to the Shema's very true monotheistic declaration is insufficient for salvation — it has to issue in action as living faith (like Abraham's offering of Isaac, v. 21) to be the kind of "faith" that saves from Gehinnom.

Let me pause here and speak about making hoda'ah confession of a מָשִׁיחַ שֶׁקֶר (mashiach sheker, Greek ψευδόχριστοι (pseudochristoi, Matthew 24:24). The Yechi (יְחִי) is the messianic proclamation of faith used by many Chabad-Lubavitch followers regarding Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe (d. 1994):

יְחִי אֲדוֹנֵנוּ מוֹרֵנוּ וְרַבֵּנוּ מֶלֶךְ הַמָּשִׁיחַ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד Yechi Adoneinu Moreinu v'Rabbeinu Melech HaMoshiach L'Olam Va'ed "Long live our master, our teacher, and our rebbe, King Messiah, forever and ever"

Structure:

יְחִי (Yechi) — "may he live" / "long live" — jussive form of ח-י-ה (to live)

אֲדוֹנֵנוּ מוֹרֵנוּ וְרַבֵּנוּ — "our master, our teacher, and our rabbi" (a traditional honorific triad used for the Rebbe)

מֶלֶךְ הַמָּשִׁיחַ (Melech HaMoshiach) — "King Messiah"

לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד — "forever and ever"

This declaration of faith predates the Rebbe's 1994 death (originally chanted by Hasidim who believed he was, or would be revealed as, Moshiach in his lifetime), but a faction within Chabad — often called Meshichists — continued and continues to recite it after his death, neglecting the kehunah aspect of Moshiach and holding that there is no curse for a tzaddik and that his is true Yiddishkait and that he is Moshiach.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." Matthew 23:15

This is now what I want to speak about, countering those who say that Chabadnik Meshichists, not Messianics, and have the true Yiddishkeit. (If only the Meshichists knew how Jewish the Moshiach's Tish is and the Moshiach's Mikveh and much more Judaism and Yiddishkeit there is in the Messianics' Brit Chadasha and in Messianic Judaism than in the Meshichists' "King Messiah's" Igros Kodesh!) But to counter Chabad Lubavitch pseudo-Judaism I need a Yiddish Brit Chadasha Triglot with "true Judaism" Introduction and a High Holiday Machsor and a Tanakh and a Lubavitcher-style English Bible and an illustration. For an illustration let's use the Maginot line.

There's a generation now that doesn't know anything about the Maginot line probably. But

this ignorance is very tragic because the Maginot line is a monument to human "certainty."

The nation of France built the Maginot line because it needed safety to be true. It had

a psychological need and therefore it declared that its national safety was actually certain and true.

And billions of francs were thrown into this, miles of concrete, bunkers, artillery. And there

was a great national sigh of relief because the trauma of World War I would not be repeated. And

there was just this glorious feeling of not wishful thinking-- although that's what it was--

but that it had to be true since they declared it to be so. And then what happened? The Germans

simply walked around it. So the Maginot line is not just a fortification. It's

a psychological artifact, a monument to the human ability to confuse desire with reality.

You know, I may desire the tomb of Moshiach Ben Dovid to be empty, but that doesn't make it

empty, does it? Just because I desire it. However, in the case of the empty tomb of Moshiach Ben Dovid,

this is an evidence stacked case. Jerusalem was the worst possible place to preach a bodily

resurrection unless the tomb was actually empty. So, they weren't being wishful thinkers when

they started preaching the resurrection. The earliest proclamation, "God raised him from the dead," was made in Jerusalem, the very city where he had been executed and buried. If the body were

still in the tomb, the authorities or opponents would have publicly refuted the resurrection claim

simply by producing the corpse. And of course, these preachers who were all going to be in trouble

preaching this message. They were similar to people possessing a Bible in North Korea where you will immediately

be arrested, tortured, and killed just because you possess the Bible. So these preachers would be

crazy to make something like that up or put on a pretense. The earliest witnesses are also women. An unlikely invention

because women did not have credibility in the court. In fact, their testimony was

widely regarded as less legally reliable. And in the early Messianic movement, if the preachers were just

inventing a story, of course they would have chosen male witnesses, ideally kohenim or respected elders. They wouldn't have independently chosen women of all

people.

"Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire." Matthew 18:8

And of course, the empty tomb is extremely early. We find it in the pre- Pauline formula

in 1 Corinthians 15:3-5. We we find it in the Mark passion source. These sources reflect material

circulating within the earliest time of Moshiach's death. This declaration of faith in the Techiyas Moshiach/Resurrection of Moshiach is far

too early for legendary development. So there's an early strata. It's the earliest strata of

the movement. And where do we find the empty tomb narrative? Right there. And of course,

Jewish burial customs. You know, you can't climb out of a wrapped, tachrichim covering

soaked in spices. Lazarus couldn't climb out of it, he had to be helped, the tachrichim for him was a straight jacket he couldn't escape without help. Almost like trying to escape a mummy's wrapping. Not quite, but similar. You can't do it unaided. And if grave robbers were the ones aiding you, in their hurry, they wouldn't leave everything so neat, taking the time to neatly fold the head wrapping.

And we even have enemy attestation here. The earliest Jewish polemic presupposes an

empty tomb. And that's where the farfetched notion originated that his disciples stole

the body. Why would they steal the body and then start preaching an empty tomb when it's going to

get them killed? They have no vested interest in circulating an empty tale they know isn't true that is going to get them killed. You know these empty books you buy for journal writing...just blank pages...what North Korean would hold up an empty book with blank pages and say to the authorities, "Look I have a Bible," when it's not true and it's going to get them killed? The Resurrection appearances happened! So

the rise of the resurrection faith is inexplicable without an empty tomb. We know the tomb was empty. There's no question about it. We have independent attestations. Also,

there's extra biblical material. We even have archaeological artifacts on Pontius Pilate. All of

this goes without saying. You cannot postulate that there's some kind of myth going on here. So,

we know the Messianic Jewish framing: kever (tomb) guf (body) techiyas hamesim (resurrection of the dead) is right there. And you can look at the

Orthodox Jewish Bible and you can see this.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." Matthew 23:15

On the other hand, if anybody is preaching somebody to be the Moshiach Ben Dovid today and the Messianic claimant's body is obviously in the tomb, there's a big

problem in trying to believe that. It looks like wishful thinking if there ever was such a thing.

So when the French built the Maginot line, when they spent billions of francs, miles of concrete,

when they had Maginot line artillery and a big national sigh of relief, when they had a sort of psychological

euphoria because they needed safety to be true and they thought they were now safe.

World War I can't be repeated. They were saying in effect, peace, peace, Jeremiah 6:14,

when there is no peace. In other words, there's a bunch of wishful thinking

going on here. When your Rabbi Schneersohn is where Psalm 16 says he's not supposed to be, when your Rabbi Schneersohn is moldering in the grave, there is no savior in that tomb. There is no redemption in that grave. There's only a casket internment, a burial. And of course,

you cannot put a crown on a corpse. Nobody is going to do a coronation for a corpse. You're not going to pull a corpse out of a tomb where the corpse is buried six feet

under and drag it into a coronation room and drag it onto a throne and put a crown on it.

Can you imagine the odor of decomposition putrefaction? "There is a way that appears right"

but it's only wishful thinking. And you get that in Proverbs 14:12. So, every generation builds its own

Maginot line. And you can place a crown on an idea, but that does not give it breath from death to life.

A proclamation is not a resurrection. And you can enthrone a memory, but you cannot

make it reign as King, the living Savior. So the Maginot line teaches us that sincerity is not the same as truth.

And what you want doesn't make it so. And so this generation needs to know about the 1930s.

about the Maginot line, why France built it, because World War I traumatized the nation. The

nation wanted certainty. They wanted security, but also certainty. They wanted something

that would guarantee safety. They wanted to think that Germany could never invade again because

after all they had the Maginot line. So they built a wall that made them feel safe. Feeling

is not the same as reality. Germany simply went around it. They simply walked through Belgium, a

route the wall didn't cover, and France collapsed in six weeks. So the Maginot line is an image of

wishful thinking, false security, believing your own PR, getting caught up in fantasy.

"Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?" Matthew 23:33

And thank God that what we believe is not fantasy. I thank God that there is something called הַבִּיאָה הַשְּׁנִיָּה (HaBi'ah HaShniyah), "the Second Coming."

Hallelujah. As surely as ancient cave wall graffiti is evidence of real Homo sapiens, so the empty tomb is evidence of the Bi'ah Rishonah, the First Coming, and I thank God that there is a Second Coming.

And I thank God that we can know that the empty tomb of Moshiach Ben Dovid is empty. We can also know

that our tomb will be empty because to be absent from the body is to be immediately present with

the Lord. And as far as our body is concerned, at the last trump, it says there will be a הַבִּיאָה הַשְּׁנִיָּה (HaBi'ah HaShniyah), a Second Coming. Hallelujah. And that is when our body exits the

tomb. Hallelujah. So there's a glorious thing here to be understood. And I hope you get it.

I hope it's sinking in right now because it took 28 years for it to sink into my

heart. But Beis Yod Alef Heh, Bi'ah, and then Shin, Noon, Yod, Yod, Heh, Shniyah. It's the way you say Second Coming in Hebrew. And in the הַחֲטִיפָה (HaChatifah) — "the snatching away Rapture" —

there is the glorious part: the Lord descends from heaven. The dead in Moshiach

shall rise first. This is the emptying of the tombs. Look, Moshiach's tomb is already empty. My tomb

will be empty. The body will not be there. The living who remain will be also caught up

together with him in the clouds. But they will not precede the ones that are already buried.

Yes, there will be a great falling away. Yes, there will be the man

of lawlessness. Yes, the anti-Moshiach will make his appearance. But look, to be absent from the

body is to be present with the Lord. My spirit will be immediately present with the Lord. And

that's why I want to depart and be with Moshiach, which is far better. I'm talking about immediate

fellowship with the Moshiach Ben Dovid. That's where my spirit will go. When I close my eyes in death,

I will see him. I don't have to hope that I will see him. I know his tomb is empty. He has

vacated it. And as far as my body is concerned, my body will be raised immortal at הַבִּיאָה הַשְּׁנִיָּה (HaBi'ah HaShniyah).

Hallelujah. This corruptible will put on

incorruption and this mortal will put on immortality.

Hallelujah. That's the nature of my body. Look, I already have my tomb purchased and it's got my

name on it already. And when my body goes in there, it will be sown in corruption,

but it will be raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor. It is raised in glory. It is sown in

weakness. It is raised in power. It is sown a natural body. It is raised a spiritual body.

It's a seed that when it goes into the ground eventually there is a metamorphosis

just like my dead spirit became alive when I was born again. My mother said to

me for 28 years read the Scriptures. I refused to do it. Why? Because I was dead. You can't get

a stillborn dead baby to cry and crave the pure milk of the word of God. The baby is stillborn. The baby is dead. And I was

dead. I could not crave the pure milk of the word of God. I was a dead stillborn. I was dead. But when

I became a newborn babe alive, I started craving and crying for the pure milk. But it took 28 years of

prayer and preaching for me to come to that point. But when I did come to that point, not only did I

come to love the Scriptures and crave them, but I also came to the point where I could translate

them into other languages for other people. And we have a Yiddish translation. And what we did was we

dusted off Mordecai Bergmann's Tanakh and and Krelenbaum's Bris Chadasha in Yiddish. And we

updated the orthography and the vocabulary. But when I was dead in my trespasses and sins, my

mother couldn't even get me to read the Bible. And all of her prompting and all of her pleading was

in vain. She was wasting her breath for 28 years. But hallelujah. If you're in a delivery room, an

OBGYN delivery room in a hospital, there's that moment of quiet and then you hear a cry. A little

cry. Sometimes not so little. And what is it? It's a newborn babe alive. And why is she crying? She wants

her milk. She's crying for the pure milk. And once I became a newborn babe, I cried for the milk.

But if I was still dead in trespasses and sins, if my spirit were dead, if I were a dead stillborn,

there would be no crying. But now I have as a present possession eternal life.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life" John 6:47

So we shall not all sleep,

but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump,

when all those who have been born from heaven-- well, yes, it's appointed unto men once to

die and then the judgment. But I'm talking about people who've already been judged because Moshiach

took their judgment and now, hallelujah, there is therefore now no condemnation. They're already

alive in the spirit. They leave this world. Their spirit is with Moshiach. He's there. He's a friend

who sticks closer than a brother. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord,

the first person you see when you close your eyes in death is Him, your Savior, the Lamb who died,

whose blood gets you out of Egypt, out of bondage. You will see him. And then when he comes

at הַבִּיאָה הַשְּׁנִיָּה (HaBi'ah HaShniyah) your body will come out of the grave and your body will

be renewed. It'll be changed in a twinkling of an eye. You will have a resurrection body like his,

like the one he modeled in the upper room. And all of those empty tomb preachers were martyred. Almost all of them

paid with their blood to confirm their martyr's testimony that not only was the tomb empty,

but they saw the Occupant. And not only that, but they saw his wounds. And we will be with

Him first in the spirit, you know, and if he's with you, then, of course, your body will will come out of

the grave. Yes, your body will be changed in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump.

And if the spirit of Him that raised up Moshiach Ben Dovid from the dead dwell in you, He that raised

up Moshiach Ben Dovid from the dead shall also quicken mortal bodies and they also will come out of

the tomb at הַבִּיאָה הַשְּׁנִיָּה (HaBi'ah HaShniyah. So now in the body we are absent from the Lord but at death we

will be present with the Lord and the body will be in the grave, but at הַבִּיאָה הַשְּׁנִיָּה (HaBi'ah HaShniyah) the body

will be raised immortal reunited with the spirit and in this glorified state bodily we will be with

the Lord forever. This is not wishful thinking, my friend. This is something that we know is true. In fact, the empty tomb is an omen of Gehinnom jeopardy for unbelievers.

But we groan to be clothed with the resurrection body. We will not

be disembodied spirits because the full redemption includes the body.

We're talking about the Techiyas Hamesim, the resurrection of the dead, the all-important

doctrine of Judaism. And what a glorious thing it is. And it is not wishful thinking. Get your

scribal pen out and write Beis Yod Aleph Heh and then write the second word. Shin Noon Yod Yod Heh.

That's a glorious thing. Hallelujah. And where is it found? Where is this exact phrase found

in the Brit Chadasha?

27 For as lightning goes out from the mizrach (east) and shines to as far as the maarav (west), thus will be the Bias HaMoshiach (coming of the Messiah, the Bar Enosh, Son of Man--DANIEL 7:13). 28 Wherever the place of the Geviya (Corpse) is, there will be gathered together the nesharim (vultures, eagles [popularly]). 29 Immediately after the Tzarah (Tribulation Mt 24:21) of those days, the shemesh will be darkened, and the levanah will not give its light. And the kokhavim will fall from Shomayim, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 And then will appear the Ot Bar Enosh (the Sign of the Son of Man) in Shomayim. All the tribes of kol haaretz (all the earth) will see the Bar Enosh Moshiach and his Bias, his Coming, on the ananim of Shomayim (clouds of glory of Heaven) with gevurah (power) and great kavod (glory). 31 Moshiach will send his malachim with a loud blast of the Shofar, and the malachim will gather together Moshiach's Bechirim from the four winds, from one end of Shomayim to the other. Matthew 24:27-31
64 Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach says to him, You said it. But I say to you, From now on you will see the Bar Enosh [Moshiach] sitting at the right hand of Gevurah (Power) and his Bias (Coming) will be with ANENEI HASHOMAYIM (clouds of Heaven, DANIEL 7:13-14). Matthew 26:64
26 And then you will see the BAR ENOSH BA BAANANIM (the Son of Man [Moshiach] coming in clouds DANIEL 7:13 14) with gevurah rabbah (great power) and kavod (glory). Mark 13:26
27 And then you will see the Bar Enosh (Moshiach, DANIEL 7:13-14) and his Bias HaMoshiach on an Anan (Cloud) with gevurah (miraculous power of Hashem) and kavod rav (great glory). Luke 21:27
3 And if I go and prepare a makom for you, I am coming again and will receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:3
11 Also, these said, " Men of the Galil, why do you stand looking into Shomayim? This Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua/Yeshua [Zech 6:11-12; Ezra 3:8], the one having been taken up from you into Shomayim, will also come again in like manner as you saw him going into Shomayim." Acts 1:11

8 And then the Ish HaMufkarut (the Man of Lawlessness [Anti-Moshiach]) will be revealed, whom HaAdon [Moshiach Yehoshua/Yeshua [Zech 6:11-12; Ezra 3:8], Malachi 3:1; Ps 110:1; Dan 7:13-14] will destroy by the RUACH (YESHAYAH 11:4) of His mouth and will wipe out at the appearance of His Bi'as (HaMoshiach, His Parousia, Coming). 2 Thessalonians 2:8

13 Awaiting the tikvah hameashsheret (the blessed hope), the appearing of the kavod HaEloheinu HaGadol and Moshieynu Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua/Yeshua [Zech 6:11-12; Ezra 3:8], Titus 2:13
28 So he, having been offered up once in order that HU NASA CHET RABBIM (" he bore away the sin of many" YESHAYAH 53:12) and shall appear sheynit (a second time) for Yeshu'at Eloheinu without reference to chet for those who expectantly khakeh levo'o shel (await the arrival of) Moshiach. Hebrews 9:28
7 Have zitzfleisch (patience), therefore, Achim b'Moshiach, until the Bias HaMoshiach, the Coming of Moshiach Adoneinu. Hinei, the ikar (farmer) awaits the precious p'ri haAdamah (fruit of the earth), having zitzfleisch (patience) for it until it receives the Yoreh (first autumn rain) and the Malkosh (spring rain). [Dt 11:14; Jer 5:24; Joel 2:23]8 You must also have zitzfleisch. Strengthen your levavot, because the Bias HaMoshiach, the Coming of Moshiach Adoneinu, has drawn near. James 5:7-8
13 Therefore, tighten the " readiness" gartel of your mind, a mind that is one of kibush hayetzer (self-control). Set your tikvah completely on the Chen v'Chesed Hashem that is being brought to you at the Hisgalus (Revelation, Apocalypse) of Moshiach Yehoshua/Yeshua [Zech 6:11-12; Ezra 3:8]. 1 Peter 1:13
10 But the Yom Hashem will come as a ganav (thief), in which the Shomayim with great suddenness will pass away and the elements, burning up, will be destroyed, and the Olam Hazeh and its ma'asim will be found out [BAMIDBAR 32:23]. 2 Peter 3:10
28 And now, yeladim, remain in Him, that when He makes His hisgalus (revelation, unveiling appearance) we may have bitachon and not have bushah (shame) before Him at the Bi'as HaMoshiach. 1 John 2:28
14 But also it was about these [men] that Enoch, in the seventh [generation] from Adam, prophesied, saying, " Hinei, Adonoi comes with His ten thousands of malachim 15 For the purpose of bringing all to Mishpat and for the purpose of proving guilty every neshamah of all of its deeds done without yireshakoved and of all the harsh things chote'im (sinners) without yires-hakoved spoke against Him. Jude 14-15
“He who gives solemn edut to these things says, 'Ken! I am coming bahlt (soon)!'” Omein. Come Adoneinu Yehoshua! Revelation 22:20
25 For Ani yadati Goeli chai (I know that my Redeemer liveth), and that he shall stand up at Acharon (at the Last) upon aphar (dust, the earth); 26 And though after my ohr (skin) has been thus destroyed, yet from my basar I shall see Eloah; [T.N.Only through G-d's Word can we know G-d's salvation (Psalm 119:81; 2 Tim 3:15). G-d's Son (Proverbs 30:4), the source of revelation (Proverbs 30:3-5) and love (Proverbs 8:17), functioned as an Amon (Craftsman, master builder, Proverbs 8:30) or Creative Wisdom at His side as the source of creativity (Proverbs 8:12; 8:22; 8:30) and love (Proverbs 8:17). And this Son of G-d took on flesh as the Son of G-d Messiah (Psalm 2:7; 1 Chronicles 17:13; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:5-6), David's L-rd (Psalm 110:1). And whoever calls on the Name of the L-rd will be saved (Joel 2:32). G-d's Word, His Son, incarnated as the Son of G-d Messiah, has a prophesied Name. His prophesied Name is Yeshua given through Messiah's Namesake Yehoshua/Yeshua the High Priest who made the kaporah in 516 BCE ending the Golus (Exile) of abandonment from G-d (Isaiah 54:7) lasting 70 years from 586 BCE to 516 BCE. Moshiach is the Kohen after the order of Melki-Tzedek (Ps 110:4) who in his abandonment (Matthew 27:46) made the kaporah ending our Exile from G-d, our exile of sin and death (Matt. 1:12-17).]

So I know that my redeemer liveth and that he shall stand in the latter day upon the earth. This is not wishful thinking. You cannot produce his body, because his body stood up, because he was the DVAR HASHEM — Psalm 33:6 and Proverbs 30:4, "By the word of the Lord were the heavens made." And it says: who threw the stars in the sky, the heavens — who made the heavens? What is his name, what is his Son's name? So who is the Zun fun Der Oybershter? Who is the DVAR HASHEM, Adoneinu Moreinu Moshieinu — and he is someone who has vacated his tomb, and his tomb is presently empty.

Now put two and two together. If my tomb will not be empty, and his tomb is already empty, then I better get right with him. I don't have to get right with somebody who's in their tomb — I'm going to my tomb, he's already in his tomb, so what's the big deal? But if he's not in his tomb, that can only mean one thing: he is in his Judge's Chambers, the Shofet Kol HaAretz who presides in the Judgment Court.

The Bailiff says, "All rise!" Everybody will stand up. The whole world will stand up. The general resurrection is what we're talking about. After a thousand years, there will be a general resurrection, and the judge, the Shofet Kol HaAretz, will take his seat in the courtroom.

And with the gavel, he will say, "Order in the court!

And you, my friend, in your tomb, will be subpoenaed. You will actually be put under arrest and brought before the great white throne judgment to hear the sentence."

You will go with the goats. You will not go with the sheep. Seek the Lord while he can be found. Call upon him while he's near. You need the Lord right now, my friend. And don't misappropriate this terminology.

There's only one Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach, and his tomb is empty, and he was seen. God raised him from the dead, and he was seen, and he went back to glory, and he's coming again in glory. He is the Bar Enosh of Daniel 7:13-14, who Rashi says is the Moshiach, the Melech HaMoshiach.

And since his tomb is empty and your tomb will not be empty, you don't need to get right with somebody whose tomb is not empty. You need to get right with somebody whose tomb is empty. A rabbi cannot be the judge of the world if he's mouldering in the grave.

And so every knee will bow, every tongue will confess. And the Yechi Adoneinu — יחי אדוננו מורנו ורבינו מלך המשיח לעולם ועד — that they will confess is that this One is Adoneinu, the One who overcame death and brought immortality to light.

Listen, we believed in Moshiach. We believed in the resurrection of the dead. Moshiach came, and he did resurrect from the dead, and therefore Judaism is true. Judaism has been vindicated. Don't go out and find some other Judaism. Don't go creating some kind of wishful-thinking, man-made Judaism. Stick with the Tanakh. Hallelujah.

Lord, I want to pray right now that someone will have their eyes opened, and they will turn from wishful thinking. They will not be like a wishful-thinking Frenchman who thinks the Maginot line is going to protect him from the Führer. The Führer's army just marched around it — they just went through Belgium. Big deal. And Paris fell immediately.

Oh God, it's not your will — it's not your will that people fall. Pride goes before the fall. Paris fell. Paris was proud. Paris believed in the Maginot line. Paris believed in wishful thinking. Paris was not saved from the anti-Moshiach, and the anti-Moshiach is coming, and there are already many false Moshiachs that are already here. It's time to seek the Lord while he can be found. Call upon him while he is near.

Moshiach Ben Dovid, come into my heart. Forgive my sins. Take control of my life. I renounce any other Rebbe Moshiach but you. And I thank you, Lord, that you are the true Go'alenu, Morenu, Moshieinu. Come into my heart, forgive my sins, take control of my life, and I will serve you and follow you all the days of my life."

And everybody said, "Amen." Amen. Amen.

Closing note for this room

One Bible with One Urgency

The door to repentance, while open, ought to be walked through now rather than presumed upon later.

That is the note on which both Moshiach's sayings and Edwards's sermon close — not with the fire alone, but with the door still open, and the summons to go through it.

"Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2
