Not sure? Alright, let's talk about curses.
The Ten Commandments are not Ten
Suggestions. There are curses or covenant reprisals
associated with each one of the Ten Commandments and these can be shown to be
real. If the curses are real, it can be
shown that the blessings are
real. And if the blessings are real, then
the reality of miracles would logically follow.
Wait a minute. Miracles? Here a
skeptic raises doubts. Did Matthew the
tax-collector who became Moshiach's Shliach indulge in fantasy writing and outright
fabrications? For example, Matthew tells
us that not only did Moshiach walk on the water (Mt 14:22 and following), but
Shimon Kefa, Matthew's fellow member of the Twelve,
attempted the same. Now the question the
skeptic asks is: isn't this pious fiction passed off as "history?"
Let's break this down.
First, walking on the water is
impossible ; Second, that's what a miracle
is, sometime impossible. However, if G-d exists, all
things are possible.
G-d is a living G-d, the G-d of
March 13, 1948 Eddie Jacobson
appeals to Truman to see Chaim Weizman.. April 23,
1948 Weizman is summoned to Truman's messenger, Judge
Rosenman in But in the First National
Return and the Second National Return the real Benefactor in This is not fantasy, this is
sober historical fact.
Now if G-d can raise a whole
nation, how can you be sure He can't raise one man, Moshiach Ben Dovid? And if Moshiach is raised from the dead and this is seen by
eye-witnesses and recorded by historians (remember Luke?), is it logical for you to
swallow the camel of believing in the Miracle of the Resurrection and yet strain
out the gnat of doubt over the Miracle of the Feeding the Multitudes or the
other miracles? And if 5000 men can be fed with a
little boy's sack lunch, what makes you think that the same G-d who in this way
suspended nature's laws on land
cannot do the same at sea? It is not
just the Brit Chadasha that you do not believe; it is
also regarding the Tanakh that you are an Apikoros unbeliever, for the Tanakh says the Moshiach Son of
Man will come on the clouds of glory
(Daniel 7:13-14) and you
don't even believe he could come on the
water, much less on the clouds.
Further Zecharyah 14:5 says that the Kadoshim will
come with Moshiach. So it is not
just the Brit Chadasha that you do not believe; it is
also regarding the Tanakh that you are an Apikoros unbeliever, for the Tanakh says that the Kadoshim will come with Moshiach on the
clouds of glory but you don't even believe that one Kadosh
(Holy one), the Moshiach's Shliach Shimon Kefa, could come on
the water with the Moshiach. You must beg Hashem to take away the stubborn spirit of blind pride and
doubt from your
heart. The Shliach Yochanan offers proof that
Moshiach did this sea miracle. In his Gospel, Moshiach's Shliach Yochanan gives an eye-witness attestation that there was no
other boat, and that the crowds knew this (Yn 6:22). Without a boat, in the midst of a tumultuous
storm, with great winds and high waves, there was no other way for one to go
from point A across the Hashem's
miracles are not entertainment pieces but signs given at points of great need or
emergency, when G-d himself must intervene or all is lost. The crowds were about to try to force Moshiach to become a political King (like Bar Kochba) instead of an Isaiah 53 Goel Redeemer from sin; and Moshiach's Talmidim had to be
removed from this Biblically alien Messianic influence, leaving Moshiach stranded without a boat to catch up with them at
the time they would need a divine miracle to save them from the peril of the
stormy sea. Like the Exodus at the parting of the When Beth Shalom was in dire
need of G-d's intervention in 1993 and 1994, Hashem did a miracle on top of a miracle on top of a
miracle. Hashem
made a stolen
car (stolen by Anti-Moshiach activists) the
centerpiece of a testimony. One follower
of Moshiach (the original owner of the stolen
car) is called to Heaven (heralded by angels) and another follower of Moshiach (who
was given the car following the angel miracle but before it was stolen)
hears the voice of the Ruach Hakodesh and is able to prevent Anti-Moshiach activists from touching the stolen car's rental replacement. All this miracle on
top of miracle on top of miracle testimony actually happened (it is not a
fictional fabrication in any way enhanced as a "tall tale"). Why did it happen? To greatly encourage a Kehillah being persecuted, just as the story of Kefa and Moshiach on the water
greatly encouraged the early believers in the midst of the stormy persecutions
they had to endure. You say, "I don't
believe your stolen car-angel story." It
doesn't matter whether you believe it or not.
There are too many eye-witnesses to this day in You may not believe in a
freight train, but that won't change anything if you get run over by
one. Now let's talk about the Ten Commandments. These are not Ten Suggestions. There are curses or covenant reprisals
associated with each one of the Ten Commandments and these can be shown to be
real. You say, "What do you mean
'real'?" Well, look at the Babylonian Exile. How "real" was that covenant reprisal? How do we know, outside the Bible, that the
Babylonian Exile actually happened? Ever
heard of the Babylonian Talmud? Are we
saying that a covenant reprisal for violating the Second Commandment (no elohim acherim, "other g-ds") was the Babylonian Exile? No the Bible is saying that. See Deuteronomy 28:36 and Jeremiah 25:11 and 29:10. These curses will pursue the offender like
bloodhounds in a swamp and the offender will not be able to outrun them (see
Deuteronomy 28:45). Listen, you may not think there is a curse on
your life, but when, before the High Holy Days, you pray Selichos prayers based on Exodus 34:6, keep reading because
Exodus 34:7 says that the
curse will even pursue you generationally. For example, your grandfather was a
whoremonger and the curse of the
Seventh Commandment [Dt 5:18] pursues him.
Then the grandfather's daughter becomes an adultress. The curse
of the Seventh Commandment pursues her.
Then the grandson marries an adultress. The curse of the Seventh Commandment pursues
him. Then the great grandson becomes
a homosexual. The curse pursuing the
sexually immoral who transgress the Seventh Commandment pursues even to the
fourth generation (Exodus
34:7). It is NOT the SEVENTH
SUGGESTION! It is a treaty with teeth! G-d is not mocked. Like a tenant's rental contract with the
landlord, a violation of the tenant agreement means eviction by the Landlord, it
is not just a piece of paper. The tenant
cannot mock the landlord as if the rental stipulations mean nothing. The Ten
Commandments are not just a piece of paper.
Curses are real powers that pursue the transgressor in this life. G-d is not mocked. Hell begins but does not end in the curses of this life (Isaiah 66:24 and Daniel 12:2). Now we thought Moshiach was cursed (Isaiah 53:4), but Moshiach was innocent and the curse he took was ours (Isaiah 53:5). So now it is your choice. Which will it
be: curses or Moshiach? America says, "We can get the Supreme Court to
toss The Ten Commandments out the courthouse door and then we can use our
political pressure to drive the Jewish people from Gaza homeless out of their
land thumbing our nose at Amos
9:15 and no bloodhound curse will pursue us." Then immediately homeless Americans flee New
Orleans as Hurricane Gaza (misnamed Hurricane Katrina) pursues them, and the
discovery is made: G-d is not mocked, whatsoever a man sows (against the Ten
Commandments) he will also reap (in reprisals and curses from the Ten
Commandments). Better to have trembled at
the Scriptures and have left the Jewish people in Gaza! Better to have stopped
scoffing and instead study the
Besuras HaGeulah of Mattityahu or Matthew in Yiddish and
English.
