When we look at the inerrant Hebrew Bible, we see that we
battle not against flesh and blood, but against something called the
"ruach zenunim, the spirit of whoredom, the spirit of unfaithfulness, the
spirit of harlotry, the spirit of fornication." This spirit is stubborn
and blind and bent on turning away from the L-rd. In order to come to the
knowledge of the L-rd, deliverance from this spirit is necessary. This is
why we need [Yn 3:6] a
regenerated spirit in which
this spirit of disloyalty to the L-rd is healed and this is why we
need deliverance ministry and
kedushah. There are two
references to this term "ruach zenunim" in the Book of Hosea, one at Hosea 4:12 and one at Hosea 5:4. Before we look
at the term, take your favorite translation and lay it down beside THE
ORTHODOX JEWISH BIBLE translation of Hosea. Now print out or just look at
here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here. Wailing upon
one's bed does not fool G-d. He wants us to cry to him from our hearts. On
this look at Hos 7:14.
G-d is not fooled by tears when the heart is stubbornly disobedient and
wilely. Remember the hardheartedness of King Dovid; remember David's
wiliness in dealing with Uriah, the husband of Bathsheba, in 2Sm 11:6-15. Watch him
attempt to manipulate the man with hypocritical personal concern for the
man when in reality David had already taken Uriah's wife and now was
preparing to take Uriah's life. Who was David fooling but himself? A
spirit of whoredom was dragging David away from the holy will of G-d. He
had made Uriah's wife a royal whore. Now this is indeed the kind of sin
G-d is talking about when He says, "There is no faithfulness or loyalty,
and no knowledge of G-d in the land" (Hos 4:1). For a spirit of whoredom
has led them astray and they have forsaken the L-rd. See Hos 4:12. When
we're stubborn and when we are determined in our pride to go after vanity
and when we don't take into account G-d's jealous holy love and that He
sees all our wickedness, then our deeds hinder us from returning to the
L-rd; He withdraws from us. (See Hos 5:4-6.) We don't consider that He
remembers all our wickedness. America sows the wind in her alliance with
Saudi Arabia, but then reaps the whirlwind when Saudi Arabian citizens fly
airplanes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center on 9/11. Americans should have read
the book of Hosea; then they would have seen that Israel did the same
thing with Assyria, sowing the wind and reaping the whirlwind 722 B.C.E.
when Assyria dragged them off into Exile. With her abortion mills and
Sodom policies, America has played the whore, departing from her G-d. (See
Hos.9:1.) The nation's heart is false and her officials are rebels. (See
Hose 9:15 and 10:2.) The words of Scripture are not precious enough to
her. It says, "Take [G-d's] words with you and return to the L-rd" (Hos
14:2).
A little over a century and a half have transpired since
David was king. Now the prophet Hosea is battling an apostate nation that
has turned away from Hashem and is now worshipping the Canaanite rain g-d
Ba'al. So Hosea is told to enter into an adulterous marriage, a marriage
with an adulteress, so that he will understand G-d's broken heart, for in
fact both G-d and his prophet have marital problems with an adulterous
wife: Hosea's wife being a Ba'al cult prostitute under the sway of a ruach
zenunim, a spirit of unfaithfulness, a spirit of whoredom; and G-d's wife
being the northern kingdom of Israel whose heartland was Ephraim and whose
capital was Samaria and whose apostate royal sanctuary was in Beth El
(Beth Aven, House of Iniquity).
Hosea gives a prophecy that in the
last days G-d will remove this spirit of adultery and the Israelites shall
return and seek Hashem their G-d and the Moshiach their king (Hos 3:5). Hosea is able
to see this through the lens of his troubled marriage. Notice he doesn't
seek another woman but loves this adulterous wife that G-d has given him,
and through that cuckold's agony of love, is able to hear the voice of the
L-rd. If you want to know how Moshiach Ben Dovid feels when Jewish people
run after a nobody false Moshiach Rebbe and glorify this dead nobody
instead of the true living Moshiach with the empty tomb who is alone
worthy of praise, read Hos
2:8. The nation with the unclean faithless heart loves another. "She
did not know that it was I" who lavished every good thing on her, every
good thing of redemption through the blood price her true Choson Moshiach paid,
for which she promptly gave
idolatrous glory to her illicit and undeserving nobody false Moshiach
Rebbe lover. She went after her false Moshiach and "forgot me." Many
people called to Messianic Jewish ministry have had a marital thorn in the
flesh, a broken marital bed relationship, and through this marital tragedy
they are able, like Hosea, to understand Hashem's heart and the heart of
His forgotten and jilted
Moshiach. (To paraphrase Isaiah 53, "They thought I
was accursed of G-d but it was THEIR curse that I willingly took for their
kaparah healing.")
O that you would be delivered from a reprobate
mind and receive the mind of Moshiach and become richer by far.
