(circa) in Ur and called by G-d 2091 B.C.E. Isaac was born around 2066, and the twin Jacob with his brother around 2006, with Jacob not dying until 1859 (circa). Joseph was born around 1915 B.C.E. and died 1805 (circa). 1876 is the date Jacob's family moves to Egypt, Thutmose I (1479-1425) and his son Amenhotep II (becomes Pharaoh 1450) being the Egyptian Pharaohs. The birth of Moses has been approximated at 1526 with the Exodus occurring 1446 (see 1Kgs 6:1, there being 480 years from the Exodus to Solomon). This puts the giving of the Ten Commandments at Mt Sinai at 1445 (the book of Leviticus chronicles the events of that year and Numbers deals with the years 1445-1407). This means that the beginning of the Conquest under the leadership of Joshua (dies 1380) is roughly 1406 B.C.E. This also means that the time of the Conquest and the Period of the Judges goes from 1350 to 1050 B.C.E. (see Jdg 11:26) when Saul was made King. The story of selfless Ruth--those who profess faith but live for the sinful self are rejected (Ro 3:8; 6:1, 15; Gal 5:13; 1Ti 5:6)--took place about 1140 B.C.E. Saul (died 1010 B.C.E.), David (1010-970), [NATHAN THE PROPHET 1000-965] and Solomon (970-931) ruled for forty years each, meaning that the PROPHET SAMUEL was born 1105. Solomon's Temple was completed 959 B.C.E., and it was around 931 B.C.E. when Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, began to reign and when, shortly thereafter, the Northern Kingdom broke off from Judah. Here are the kings of the Northern Kingdom from Jeroboam I to the fall of Samaria, the capital of the Northern Kingdom, with prophets and their dates inserted appropriately: Jeroboam I 931-909; Nadab 909-908; Baasha 908-886; Elah 886-885; Zimri 7 days in 885; Tibni 885-880; [ELIJAH THE PROPHET 870-852]; Omri begins his dynasty which includes Omri 885-874, Ahab 874-853; [ELISHA THE PROPHET 852-795]; [MICAIAH THE PROPHET 853]; and Joram 852-841; then Jehu 841-814; Jehoahaz 814-798; Jehoash 798-782; Jeroboam II 793-753; [JONAH THE PROPHET 760]; [AMOS THE PROPHET 760-750]; [HOSEA 760-722]; Zechariah 753; Sallum 752; Manahem 752-742; Pekahiah 742-740; Pekah 752-732; [ODED THE PROPHET 733]; Hoshea 732-722. Now we know with certainty that the Northern Kingdom with its capital Samaria was destroyed by Assyria by 721 B.C.E. This drama to her North playing out before her eyes should have convinced the Southern Kingdom Judah that the wages of sin is death and that, since G-d is no respector of persons, sinful Jerusalem was as in as great a peril from her holy G-d as Samaria. Note the kings of Judah and the prophets G-d inserted into their history: evil King Rehoboam 931-913; evil King Abijam/Abijah 913-910; good King Asa 910-869; good King Jehoshapah 872-848; evil King Jehoram 853-841; evil King Ahaziah 841; evil Queen Athaliah 841-835; good King Joash 835-796; [JOEL THE PROPHET 810]; good King Amaziah; 796-767; good King Uzziah also called Azariah 792-740; [ISAIAH THE PROPHET 740-698] ; good King Jotham 750-732 [MICAH THE PROPHET 735-710]; evil King Ahaz 735-715; good King Hezekiah 729-686, who experienced the siege of Sennacherib of Assyria in 701; evil King Manasseh 697-642; evil King Amon 642-640; [ZEPHANIAH THE PROPHET 630-621]; [NAHUM 630-612]; [JEREMIAH THE PROPHET 626-584]; good King Josiah 640-609 during whose reign the Book of the Law was found in 621; [HULDAH THE PROPHETESS 621]; [HABAKKUK THE PROPHET 612-605]; 612 Nineveh conquered by Babylon; evil King Jehoahaz II 609; evil King Jehoiakim 608-598 during whose reign [DANIEL THE PROPHET 605-530] was dragged off to Babylon in 605 shortly before this Jehoiakim burned the Word of G-d in the royal fireplace; evil King Jehoiachin 598-597. Just as Assyria terminated the Northern Kingdom, so also Babylon brought about the Southern Kingdom Judah's Golus (Exile) in 597 in which mass deportation [EZEKIEL THE PROPHET 593-571] was exiled; evil King Zedekiah tried to escape and was blinded 597-586. Jer 52:12-13 shows the Churban (burning of Solomon's Jerusalem Beis HaMikdash by the Babylonians) taking place Aug 14, 586 B.C.E. [OBADIAH THE PROPHET 586] and its rebuilding not started until 536 and not completed [HAGGAI THE PROPHET 520] [ZECHARIAH 518] until 516 B.C.E. [THIS WAS KNOWN AS THE SECOND TEMPLE see 2Ch 36:21]. This rebuilding of the Temple occurred after Cyrus of Persia conquered Babylon in 539 B.C.E. and then King Cyrus allowed the Return of the Exiles starting in 538 B.C.E under Zerubbabel. The period of Xerxes (Ahasuerus) and Queen Esther takes us from 486 to 465. The period of Ezra [who returns 458] and Nehemiah [who returns 444] takes us from 458 to 444 [MALACHI THE PROPHET WROTE ABOUT 450 B.C.E.]. Now we are in the period between the testaments. Alexander the Great dies 323 B.C.E. During the reign of his general Ptolemy, the land of Israel came under Greek control and during the reign of Ptolemy Philadelphus (285-246 B.C.E.), the Hebrew Bible was translated into Greek, this translation becoming known as the Septuagint or Targum Hashivim. The period of Antiochus IV Epiphanes takes us from 175 to 164 B.C.E. (Beis Hamikdash was descecrated December 167 B.C.E., and it was re-dedicated Chanukah December of 164 B.C.E.) Pompey of Roman besieges Jerusalem 63 B.C.E. Now we go to 5/4 B.C.E. (circa) when Moshiach Ben Dovid was born and began his ministry in the summer or fall of 29 C.E., ministering for three and one half years until the Mot HaMoshiach (Isaiah 53:9) and the Techiyas HaMoshiach 33 C.E. Very shortly thereafter Stefanos died al kiddush Hashem and Rav Shaul met the Moshiach alive on the Damascus Road. The earliest writing we find next seems to come from the 40s C.E. from the hand of Moshiach's half-brother Yaakov Ben Dovid, the brother of Yehuda Ben Dovid. A few years later we have MOSHIACH'S LETTER THROUGH THE SHLIACH SHAUL TO THE BRIT CHADASHA KEHILLAH IN GALATIA (First Shlichus Journey 47-48), followed by letters to the Thessalonians. While (55 C.E.) MOSHIACH'S LETTER THROUGH THE SHLIACH SHAUL TO THE CORINTHIANS is being prepared in Ephesus, while Matthew is coming to Antioch, while Mark is coming to the aid of Peter as his writing assistant, the result that is coming about in these early years is that the Besuras HaGeulah according to Mark/Peter, Paul, and Matthew is being preserved in writing for all eternity. By 56 C.E. we are in Macedonia and after the Rabbi From Tarsus made a painful visit to Corinth, after he sent a now lost "severe" letter from Ephesus, he then finally penned the Second Letter to the Corinthians, and returned to Corinth. There in Corinth we find being composed (Third Shlichus Journey 53-57) MOSHIACH'S LETTER THROUGH THE SHLIACH SHAUL TO THE ROMANS (57 C.E.). Meanwhile, Luke, who had joined Rav Shaul for his Second Shlichus Journey (50-52 C.E.) is beginning to collect the eye-witnessed material for LUKE-ACTS, especially while Rav Shaul is in prison in Caesarea (57-59 C.E.), LUKE-ACTS being completed in 61 C.E., when Rav Shaul is writing Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon during his Roman imprisonment. By the time of the reign of the Emperor Domitian (81-96 C.E.) all of Yochanan's writings have been published, the Beis Hamikdash already having been destroyed by the Romans in 70 C.E. Now, do you see what a momentous thing it was in 1967's SIX DAY WAR that Jerusalem was no longer trodden down (Lk 21:24) by the Gentiles and the modern Messianic Jewish revival began, bringing even you into the picture of all this history and forcing you the reader to make a decision about what you will do with this precious book called the Bible?
