as a lucrative status upgrade, forgetting that the Judge is at the door
and Moshiach’s Bema Judgment Seat is already set up
near the Out of the carnal nature, out of the
evil heart, the mouth speaks.
Therefore, the first thing that must be done in the “emergency
room” of the kehillah is to close off the
spurting “hemorrhage” of lashon hora by the instrumentation of the “arterial
tourniquet” of pious taciturnity. This means “slow to speak” and curbing
