MUSIC FOR TIMES OF TEMPTATION WITH A 24/7/365 SONGS FOR THE TRIBES CONCERT
In I Peter 5:8-9, born-again believers are being told
to resist the devil. Also Paul or Rav Shaul is
concerned that a believer might have his mind corrupted from the simplicity/sincerity/single-hearted
devotion that is in Moshiach (2Co 11:3).
If there is a hurt in a person’s life, Satan may try to sift the
believer like wheat and the person may be tempted to look for relief from the
hurt in forbidden places, allowing the devil a foothold which can become in
time a stronghold of stubbornness. Now
at just this point the theologians enter the discussion and begin to argue
about whether the Holy Spirit and a demon can be roommates in the same “house”
and about whether the person is a “real” believer or only a “professing”
believer and about whether the demon in
question is on the inside of the house or the outside of the house and all such
arguments and disputations. But without
entering into this dispute through any of these hallways, can we not at least
agree that resisting the devil is what we are talking about here? And if I have been hurt in some way in the
past, is it not in my own best interests to find deliverance from that hurt in
ways that please the L-rd rather than in ways that displease Him? And if there is a stronghold of some kind in
my life, should I not “demolish” or “pull down” that stronghold (2Co 10:4)
and so resist the devil?
Imagine a
little girl whose alcoholic father is tearing up the house and threatening to
kill the mother. This is a true story. Back then in the fifties the only asylum of safety for frightened
mother and daughter is the local burger drive-in. There, while the violent drunken father drives
his fist through walls and breaks furniture and looks for his guns, the
terrified mother and her little girl can "while away the hours" eating
hamburgers and milk shakes until drunken daddy passes out. It's then safe to return to the house he's destroyed in a drunken rage. Now roll the tape forward and imagine
that the little girl is now 45 years old and weighs 400 pounds and at this dire point actually comes to faith,
is filled with the Holy Spirit and begins to walk in the newness of life. Now is it enough to simply tell her that
because she is born again and Spirit-filled, deliverance ministry is not
needed? When she as an adult becomes afraid or
upset now as a believer, her old stand-by friend called Mr Food Addiction will still be reassuring her and beckoning for her to "retreat for a quiet treat and come apart for a repast of comfort" into his secret little room in the mind. But this secret room is a Satanic foothold and stronghold-in-the-making. If someone says “a spirit of
gluttony” is still corrupting her mind from the
simplicity/sincerity/single-hearted devotion that is in Moshiach (2Co 11:3),
are we going to mince words and retort that a believer can’t have a demon? Wait a minute, if a demon harrrassed
Paul's mind in Act 16:18, how do you know a demon couldn't harrass yours? What we have
got to do to help this woman is a little renovation of that secret room in her mind. The 10-boxes-of-chocolate-chip-cookies-imbibed-at-the-
teddy-bear-party flights of fantasy must be replaced by a different thought world. We have to realize that Moshiach is jealous (jealousy cannot
be eliminated from love because an exclusive jealous claim is part of what love is). Exodus 20:5 tells us about G-d's love, for
G-d's love has an exclusive claim on us (Exodus 20:5) that will not countenance the rivalry of elilim. As far as this lady is concerned, we don't just sweep the house clean
and leave her mind with nothing to chew on. If we do that, the demon of gluttony will see that the house is swept clean and
will go and get a demon of self-pity and six other demons and come back to join the eery food party (or should we say food orgy?).
Somehow she has to see that she is overstepping the L-rd to get what she wants. We've got to restock her inner "room"
with songs and hymns and spiritual food for her soul. She's got to have a break-through like Peter did when he got that
glance from the L-rd, a piercing glance from Moshiach's sorrowful eyes, a glance that said something like, "Peter, how could you do this
to me: here I am carrying the tree that a sinner like you would otherwise have to bear, and all you are thinking about is how you can
save your life in this evil world and how you can overstep Me for the sake of your flesh." The woman has got to see that she is overstepping the L-rd and she's got to take the eyes of her devoted imagination off of her chocolate-chip
cookies and her teddy bear collection and put them on Moshiach Ben Dovid Yeshua. She's got to see that Satan is using an idol to tempt
her away from her pure devotion to Moshiach.
Surely it’s appropriate to give this person deliverance
ministry of some kind and not to come up with pat theological clichés to defend
the proposition that she either is demon-possessed or demonized or she is not.
If she goes on like she is now, she will be
dead shortly. Deliverance of some kind
is a matter of life and death. She needs
everything we can give her or refer her including medical help or even perhaps
obesity surgery. What would Dr. Luke do for her? Satan is still trying to kill her as long as
her thought life can be commandeered in the old childhood patterns which consist of: “I’m afraid
and unhappy and insecure! What can I
do? I know! I’ll eat!” We cannot say that 2Co 11:3 does
not apply to her, because ALL Scripture is profitable according to 2Ti 3:16. She has to
come to that place of faith and obedience where she sees that greater is He who
is in her than any demonic stronghold of any besetting sin. You say, “What if she has an overwhelming
compulsion to eat—does she then need an exorcism?” When Peter was being sifted like wheat, even
after he had made the good confession of a believer, his Messiah promised to
pray for him and comforted him that he would “turn again” and be able to
strengthen his brothers. If Moshiach did
this for Peter, can we do less for this poor woman who is on the verge of
death, even after coming to faith? What
if she is uneasy around spiritual people and tries to evade ministry?
Do we automatically assume that there is no
demonic connection to her problem? If Paul was harrassed by a demon, what makes you
so sure you won't be? (See Act 16:18, also 2Co 12:7 which speaks about an angel of Satan). We
must exhort this poor woman to resist the devil, sealing every demonic doorway with the
blood of the Lamb, renouncing every idolatry and every sinful deed (Luke 22:3) and repenting of every resentment from
every traumatic childhood emotional geyser [abusive homes where rejection is
the mantra] (Ya 3:16). We must also come against Satan and enter into a Mt 4:1-11 fasting
warfare mode in her behalf (see Eph 4:25-32). She must be taught to put on the
whole armor of G-d and not to make place for the devil and not to have a
private part of her mind that functions as a stronghold where the wiley demonic
can be fortified to hide out. Just the opposite, she must be taught to use the
Scriptures to cast down imaginations.
She must be taught to never agree with the Enemy on anything or allow any fellowship
with unclean spirits (1Co 10:20) [all the so-called g-ds of the nations are
idols according to Ps 96:5, idols where demons may lurk, 1Co 10:20]. If she is Jewish but has imbibed heterodox teaching we must warn her about seducing spirits (I Tim 4:1) as well as a spirit of religion, from which Paul
the religious persecutor, who was quite content in his religiosity (Phil 3:6),
had to be delivered. We do not war
according to the flesh, that is, against mere human foes with mere human
weapons (2Co 10:3). And when we draw near to Hashem, Hasatan who fears Him will
leave us if we resist him (Ya 4:7-8).
Imagine a crowded subway car, where everyone is packed
in like sardines and there is not room for even one more person. Then imagine that suicide bomber
terrorists converge on the subway station and try to get into the subway
car to blow it up. However, they
cannot because there is no room for them.
Listen: do not make
room for the Devil; keep your mind filled with a continual Linda concert of praise to Yeshua. If this
packed subway car is a picture of the praising mind of the believer doing
spiritual warfare, remember that if each "packed in subway rider" is a praise to G-d, then know that no demonic stronghold can gain
entrance into the thought life of the believer or into the "subway car" of
his mind. However, if one praise
thought stops praising and gets subverted into a "bitter root" thought or
a lustful thought or a "self-pity" thought or some other carnal thought,
then, even if this demonic thing is cast out, it will go and get seven
other demonic thoughts like it and re-enter the subway car, letting demons
begin their terrorist oppression and demonic stronghold (Mt12:43-45; Lk 11:24-26).
People who get delivered but then are more interested in R-rated
movies than the Tevilah of the Ruach Hakodesh are asking
for trouble and need to start walking much more closely with Yeshua, finding their greatest joy in opening the Word
of Moshiach in their private devotions each
day. So "deliverance" ministry that
can be effective is the ministry of "deliverance" music. What is "deliverance" music? Remember Saul was demonized but the
demonic stronghold was broken by the Ruach Hakodesh ministering in songs of deliverance and
spiritual songs and hymns as David played on the harp--- (Here's what
First Samuel 16:23 says "Whenever the spirit [we are talking about an evil
spirit, demon] from G-d came upon Saul, David would take his harp and
play. Then RELIEF (DELIVERANCE)
would come to Saul; Saul would FEEL BETTER, and the evil spirit [demon]
would leave Saul.)Let's stop here and test your Moshiach literacy. This Linda tape
("Songs for the Tribes") is such a specimen of "deliverance"
music. Notice in each song Linda is
caught up in rapturous love and adoration of Moshiach. Moshiach has swept Linda off her feet and with her
hands, with her lips, with every fiber of her being, she is worshipping the Son of G-d. Linda is not focusing on demons or
herself or her past or her weaknesses or on anyone else in the world but
Yeshua.
Moshiach alone is the lover of her soul.
At one point in the tape Linda is not even on earth, she is in heaven
praising Hashem and the Lamb with the
angels. When this tape is played
over and over and over until every lyric is memorized and meditated on
deeply and the music is drummed into the mind, with an open Bible laid out
before the believer's eyes, the walkman can be removed and the ear phones
put away and the tape can be played by the subconscious mind in the
recesses of the thought life as a kind of
background deliverance music of the subconscious, and will protect
the believer's heart like anti-spyware software
protects the sanctity of the computer's operating system, putting up a
firewall against hostile intruders sent from that ultimate Anti-Moshiach Hacker the Devil, who wants to destroy lives
and ministries. Because of recent
events in the world and the demonic backlash, it is absolutely necessary
that every believer do this kind of spiritual warfare and to meditate also
on the first Epistle of Yochanan. Are you fully committed to live for Moshiach ? Are
you striving for purity in all areas of your life? Have you opened your front door to Yeshua but left a back door open for the devil? Indulging in unedifying worldly
amusements at the expense of spiritual devotion to the true Moshiach, or entertaining forbidden thoughts, or
cursing, etc are possible ways of
leaving a back door open for the devil, or even possible signs that the
devil is already lurking in that vicinity.

Emotional and medical disorders are not being dealt with here,
which may have nothing or little to do with demonic oppression. We are talking about discerning the evil
spirit (1C 12:10), about pleading the blood of Moshiach (our ransom from demonic bondage, Ex 12:13)
against the evil spirit (Rv 12:10), we are
talking about resisting the devil (Ya 4:7),
being filled with the Ruach Hakodesh (Ep 5:18), letting
the word of Moshiach dwell in you richly as you
are "singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your
hearts to G-d (Co 3:16) and with songs of deliverance in the night (Job
35:10) making music in your heart ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS to the L-rd with
thanksgiving" (Ep 5:19-20). The First Epistle of Yochanan
is one of the most important books for confessing your sins to G-d,
renouncing them, forsaking them, and then quoting this particular book to
the Devil day and night until he can't stand to be around you. If you become distracted or exhausted in
this effort, read the entire book into a tape recorder and play it back in
a continuous loop until your mind is saturated. THE FIRST EPISTLE OF YOCHANAN IS THE
BEST BOOK IN THE BIBLE FOR FIGHTING POST-TEVILAH KEVER TEMPTATION AND ANY
INFESTATION OF THE DEMONIC THAT FLARES UP AGAINST YOU IN THE COURSE OF
YOUR LIFE AS A SOLDIER FOR YESHUA. Because the work is extremely threatening to Satan,
take it as a compliment that he harasses you. This means you must be doing something
right. Rejoice that Moshiach overpowers the
Strong Man (Lk 11:21-22) and takes away the
spoil (your soul). In Moshiach's Kehillah, keep
your prophetic distance from the people, so that you can set them free,
not manipulating them, not putting them under bondage to men (yourself or
others), but remembering, "It is for freedom that Moshiach has set us free. Stand firm then and do not let
yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of bondage." (Ga 5:1) Here are the deliverance words of Linda's deliverance

raised up to the Sky. Moshiach was cut off there, Hashem led Him there
to die. It pleased Him to offer His precious Son this way, A sin-offering for us. This "Isaac" had to stay. Again on a mountain G-d?s
provision you can see When the L-rd gave His own Lamb Upon the Altar Tree. Only His Blood could make us holy and set the guilty
free. My child, now, have you an
answer? Yes, Bubbe, I've an
answer: G-d's "Isaac" was for me. Song For The Tribes Within your Gates, This is where the Tribes go up to worship the King of

shakes the dust off the feet, so to speak, with a final warning to those
who stubbornly cling to demon-attracting idols in their hearts. The warning is that Hashem and Moshiach and the
Ruach Hakodesh (Adonoi Echad) is a Jealous
G-d and if you chose to put an idol in His place in your heart, you'll
wind up leaving just a tombstone in the setting sun but He'll wind up
being L-rd, with or without your heart.
Therefore, little children, keep yourselves from idols.
Guard your heart, and love Moshiach with
ALL your heart, and don't let anything or anyone draw you back into
bondage. Watch your life and
doctrine closely. See the First
Epistle of John, all five chapters, and especially the last verse, Little
children, keep yourself from idols.
The Rebbe in this song has a religious
